I talked myself out of going deer hunting today. I am just counting down the days until Saturday evening when this season is over and I can legally get back out with my rim fire rifles or my 222 for fur bearers and maybe some small game again. Two weeks of deer season is the slowest two weeks of the year for me. I got up at 4 AM with intentions to go this morning and got on the computer and was looking up different things and decided to stay home and wait until it warms up and clean the mud from under my Tundras fenders and unload all the deer hunting junk from behind the seat and clean the floor up from leaves and mud. Now is when I really appreciate not having carpet in my truck. My truck had the factory delete on carpet and I am happy it did. The rubber floor covering still looks brand new when cleaned up and at 200,000 miles has zero wear and never has any floor mats in it. Sweep it out and take some cleaner on a rag and wipe it down. Good to go until the next dirt gets in it.
I don't know if I posted this before or not. I was listening to music while looking at a predator magazine and this young girl my wife and I enjoy listening to is on our play list. She is from Norway and this is two years ago when she was only 12. Bobby Vinton song only she says Miss Lonely.

I washed my truck couple weeks ago as it needed it bad but with all the wet weather around here latetly got mud up on the side from going down to my range property. We are at 60 inches of rain in Central Va. so far which is 5th wettest year on record and my place won't be dry in areas until next summer.
Hunting has been light around there this year.

Re: Sitting out another day in the woods
Our regular deer hunting season is over, but the big news in our area is we have no snow cover, which is very unusual for this time of year. Has our winter sports people very nervous, because this is snow country and winter sports are a big part of our economy.
Love that song, by the way. She does a nice job.

Im having a hard time staying interested in going Elk hunting also Bandit. So I dont blame you for just not going. We have been hunting Elk up close the the Wyoming border on private ground. There hard to hunt because its all wide open country. They have been hunted since the first of October so when they see a pickup there gone. Been up there 4 times now and have seen them 2 of the 4 times. They kind of rome back and forth between the private ranch to the west and this one. Gonna give it a try a few more times and then give up. Just not much energy in that direction anymore.

Re: Sitting out another day in the woods
we haven't heard but a couple of shots this fall and that's unusual .... the weather hasn't been bad for hunting .... land is being cleared for building more housing developments .... from the ones we see hit on the road, there are plenty of deer around no clue what's caused the lull
