What's your recipe and process for making black powder and where do you get your components? Thanks.

CT shooter I use 75% potassium nitrate 15% charcoal 10% sulfar. There are different methods ,I use a rock tumbler with lead balls for powder mill. Do your research as there are safety concerns. Components are available at any Walmart, I make my own charcoal. I prefer fir. Never use lumber to make charcoal.

That is very cool, Oldbrass. Thanks. I watched a presentation on C-SPAN last year that you might find interesting, too.Oldbrass wrote: ↑Wed Dec 09, 2020 9:49 pmCT shooter I use 75% potassium nitrate 15% charcoal 10% sulfar. Yep that's cool. People think black powder is something special. It's first documented in 142 AD but probably long before that.

Ive never made any but have read about alot of people that do. But I still think BP is cool even though I don’t make it. I love shooting BP. Its especially great right now cause Im still shooting while others are out of ammo.
