I have noticed that it is those pics, which I have sent via email to my tablet are somewhat distorted. Example is on my thread "Sold my Baby", the pics of the new one are wonky,

Distorted pics
Sometimes I want to send pics that I have taken on my phone. I email them to myself because I mostly use my tablet while on the forum.
I have noticed that it is those pics, which I have sent via email to my tablet are somewhat distorted. Example is on my thread "Sold my Baby", the pics of the new one are wonky,
NBD but, any thoughts as to why?

Re: Distorted pics
Thank you Gunny,.
The pic of the old green one is proportionally right, however, pics of the new grey one are more narrow. I have seen some pics on here over time of guns that appear the same way. Again...not a big deal. Was just thinking there might be a slight compatibility issue between the phone and the tablet. Both are Samsung and both Android though....dunno.

Re: Distorted pics
The Grey one has an aspect ratio of 1024x576. I cropped it to 800x576, which is closer to a ratio of 4:3 (that the forum software prefers) and it appears to have corrected the distortion.

Re: Distorted pics
Nope, this forum's post image attachment software is either not set up correctly, or it's hosed, or image aspect ratio isn't supported.

I'd guess you're using an iPhone?markiver54 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 07, 2020 3:07 pmSometimes I want to send pics that I have taken on my phone. I email them to myself because I mostly use my tablet while on the forum.

I get distorted pictures of my grandkids from my kids iphones. Apple does something wonky with their compression algorithm when they send pictures through email and text that doesn't play well with non-apple devices. The only way I've found to get the actual picture taken with an iphone to display correctly on my devices (android and windows) is to hook the iphone up to a computer with a cable and download it.
Those pictures, then posted here, get aspect ration x-y stretched/squeezed, adding to the distortion. This is a phpBB software problem (see the other today's thread for more info).
