Our Morning Coffee and Weather

65* and raining this morning. It is supposed to rain into the mid afternoon with the temp supposed to raise up into the low 70's.

30 heading to 38 with a starry sky right now. Should lead to sunny skies right? Supposed to get a brief rain this afternoon then several days of dry weather. Only thing on the schedule is to go into the small town a few miles up the road and pick up our Thanksgiving prime rib along with some other items including the components for my wife to assemble her awesome pumpkin pie. Oops, should have noted that in the reloading section, not a lot of difference.

A gray day but not too cold. Mid 30s.
Coffee and some Apple Strudel that the neighbor lady sent over. Warm it and put a little cream on it.
Putz around today in the shop. Waiting on parts for the four wheeler.
Also still working on my pin ball.
Sad times. Governor cancelled Thanksgiving in our state. Carol shed some tears and then she made candy
and other goodies that she packaged and sent to the children. We will be here alone for the first time.
Turkey breast, mashed potatoes and gravy, stuffing, scalloped corn casserole, cranberries and hot rolls
followed by pumpkin pie.
We'll get by.

We do ours in October. Not sure why. Think there was another ship they don’t talk about that wouldn’t wait for the Mayflower. Like Maxwell Smart used to say “Missed it by THAT much...”

Well, the predicted storm turned out to be a dud. Windy, not dangerously so, almost no rain. Reckon, I'll take it, LOL.
Happy Thanksgiving to everybody. I just want to take this opportunity to say I'm thankful for all the new friends I've met
on the forum. The most friendly & helpful folks on here. Not all forums meet that standard. Everybody made me feel right at home from day one. I sincerely appreciate that.
As most of you probably have figured out, I live alone. But can cook rather well. So, I am having turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, beans, cranberry sauce, rolls. Reckon that'll hold me for an hour or two.

I think I will grunt at the dinner table just to let you know were thinkin about ole Grunt over there in Tenn. Happy Thanksgiving right back at ya. Im gonna be up in Evergreen about 8000ft elevation. I didnt do a thing today except make some smoke with my big ole 54 caliber Hawken full stock. Had a great time slapin some steel with it then cleanin her up when I got home. Love the smell of that BP.

48° on this fine Thanksgiving morning. I'm enjoying a fine cup of dark roast coffee on the giant Gadsen Flag mug. It's just me the wife, and our Dog today for Thanksgiving. We do miss the big get together, but our family is spread out all over this fine Country. Anyway I hope y'all have a super nice Turkey day. Cheers

Hearty cup of coffee and 43º this Thanksgiving morning. Was up twice last night checking things out after the motion alarms went off. Neighbors out building was broken into 2 nights ago so I am keeping a closer eye on the homestead. Not kids, people are stealing anything not nailed down.
Making traditional diner today for myself and my sister. Everyone have a safe and pleasant Thanksgiving. Thanks for being here, you are a great group of people.

55 years ago today, on Thanksgiving, my partner and I ate Thanksgiving Dinner in Nha Trahg, VN.
We had spent the previous two weeks in Plieku in support of the battle going on in the Ia Drang and
the previous day our CO had withdrawn us as the battle was winding down and our job was done.
We had left unfinished business at the Army compound in Nha Trang, so we returned there to finish the job.
After the Army rations in Pleiku we were astonished what the Air Force Mess had to eat. It was a
feast. Turkey, dressing, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, ect. All excellent. We ate till we were bursting.
At a table next to us were some grunts who had been in the battle. I have no idea how they got there, but
they were laughing and talking about their experience in the battle. Now you might expect that was irreverent
considering what they'd been through, but let me tell you, they were just glad to be alive. So were we.

I think of them on Thanksgiving Day. Hard to forget. I also think of all the dead I saw.

I am thankful.

30 heading to 34 here in the Inland Pacific Northwest. This is the beginning of several dry days with maybe some sun depending on fog. Today my wife and I plan to enjoy a prime rib and some pumpkin pie. Yum, two of my favorites. My beloved Gonzaga Bulldog mens basketball team plays their first game of the season today, televised at 10:30 this morning. They are ranked #1 and are playing #6 Kansas so talk about jumping right into the fire....

Go Dawgs.

Oh, forgot to mention.....my wife made a coffee cake last night. So let see, coffee cake leading to prime rib leading to pumpkin pie. Could possible be the best day of my life.
