Shortages
Re: Shortages
It was obvious that there was going to be a second wave and I hope suppliers and the general public are better prepared to handle it. I am in pretty good shape. Went to Costco Tuesday evening to get batteries for may hearing aids and my sister asked me to pick up some paper towels and Kleenex. I saw pallets of paper towels and maybe every 4th cart had some in it.

People in this country sure have been spoiled, even during my 75 years on this rock.

Re: Shortages
We starting loading up the first of October just in case the election caused problems so are in good shape. We did go to our closest Wal-mart last Monday because Costco was out of the Folgers coffee we use. While there I saw the racks where the TP and paper towels are displayed were completely wiped out. (Yes, pun intended
) On Saturday our Governor announced more shutdowns so there must have been a run on paper products on Sunday. We stopped by Costco on our way home to grab a few items but there was a social distanced line probably 500’ long. Just kept driving

Re: Shortages
Round two I suppose. I believe we're good. Might go to the local market and pick up a few items, but, man oh man; I do not want to see that craziness we witnessed several months ago. I'd like to think people have it figured out by now. We shall see.
BTW, handloading components, I'm good. Hope you folks have what you need. Like the pic Hatch!

Re: Shortages
I think the 'crazy' will be worse for a variety of reasons, not just the covid responses. The economic situation - world wide, not just the US - a very possible Iran/Israel war, and general social and political upheaval.Rifletom wrote: ↑Thu Nov 19, 2020 5:53 pmRound two I suppose. Re: Shortages
Yes, people are gearing up for round 2. I watched folks grabbing TP and paper towels at Sam's last Friday. Since it's 50 miles (on way) to a Sam's or Costco, for us, we usually buy about 3-4 weeks of necessities at a time. But since the pandemic began we keep a surplus of TP, sanitizers and paper towels just in case.

Just sanitizing wipes. Still available online. We shop mostly at Publix and Sam's.

Re: Shortages
Stopped by our local grocery store yesterday and they were in pretty good shape on most items including paper products. Possibly most of the panic shoppers hit Costco and Wallys and cleaned them out. All this while driving right past the neighborhood grocery store with plenty of inventory.
Re: Shortages
Made our grocery run to walmart this morning and the store was pretty well stocked up on toliet paper, paper towels, hand sanitizer, paper plates, bowls, dissposable forks, spoons and beer. I guess either they got a recent shipment in or that people have not started raiding it yet.

ditto but wouldn't want to be born much earlier as well .... I have no interest in being around in a time when Air Conditioning wasn't common ...
Re: Shortages
Got an email from Powder Valley about primer shortages. Not gonna change anytime soon. With Remington in financial trouble then not being able to buy supplies really hurt the primer supply. Not to mention the covid thing which we already knew. Now all the online companies that sell primers are putting limits on sales when they do have them to help prevent the scalpers who make big money during shortages like this. Winchester CCI Federal and Remington are the only ones making primers to sell to the general public. They also mention that with the increase of gun sales there has been an increase of new reloaders. They did also mention for us Barnes Bullets lovers that Sierra has bought them out and there should be a supply of Barnes Bullets back soon. Guess I will keep shooting BP as the supplies of that have still been good.

Re: Shortages
