Army Truck
I bought a new Army truck on Friday. I’ve been looking at it for about two months. It was way too expensive but the kid in me won out.
It will go great with this keep.
The next two are Tonkas I’ve had for awhile.
This one I picked up recently for almost nothing. That is about what it’s worth.
Hi, my name is Gene and I'm a Henryholic from Wisconsin.

Re: Army Truck
I have always been a fan of Tonkas. I lived by Minnetonka Minnesota for a while and was always going to try to visit the plant but never got around to it. Nice collection of vehicles, I especially like the Jeep.

Re: Army Truck
Short story about Tonka. In my youth I drove tractor trailer for my Father. He owned a few. Late one night I was on a highway in South Dakota with a large cattle semi heading out to pick up a load of feeder calves. I was driving a tractor that had a top speed of 85mph when the governor kicked in. I was going 85. I saw in my mirror a set of many lights coming up behind me very quickly. It passed me like I was standing still. The truck had scores of clearance lights and had a big banner painted on the tail gate . TONKA TOY COMPANY. He must have been going well over 100mph.
Course the speed limit for trucks in those days was 45mph.

I sure like the fourth picture down, the soft top truck (maybe) or maybe a Jeep? Anyway, I really like the distressed look it has. Nice collection but yes, you need a tank.

Re: Army Truck
My oldest brother, now 89, was in corp management at Avon years ago and used to send us a lot of those collectible cannisters for Christmas over the years. I had a bunch of them.Sir Henry wrote: ↑Mon Nov 23, 2020 8:11 pmNo one knows stuff like that. Yes it is an Avon Jeep.fortyshooter wrote: ↑Mon Nov 23, 2020 5:04 pmNice collection!
