The reality of Covid
The Covid is now in one of my family members. My daughter has it and is now at home with a few symptoms after being tested positive at her job at the local nursing home. She is the mother of six and the grandmother of 11 and we are praying for her full recovery. Has me feeling really down right now. Take care and be safe.

Re: The reality of Covid
Hoping she recovers, soon. Our daughter is an LPN in a clinic and we worry about her constantly.

Something else to keep you awake nights. Rats. Big one's, lots of them (est. 8 million+), and out of control in NYC. No doubt in other cities also. Rats carry many diseases, including (via fleas) the Black Plague. Which would really aggravate problems in the city if there is an outbreak, which is entirely possible.

Re: The reality of Covid
Well wishes to her Bandit. As was said, they HAVE come a long way in treating this horrible illness. My Dad is 87 and caught it right at the start. We almost lost him, but he pulled through.

Re: The reality of Covid
Not to minimize the danger, but I know several folks now who tested positive, had a few symptoms, and recovered quickly. My little six year old Grandson tested positive last week so we cannot see him for Thanksgiving. He's not even sick. Have faith my friend.bandit1250 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 22, 2020 9:55 amThe Covid is now in one of my family members. Re: The reality of Covid
Family all decided to have own Thanksgiving celebrations at home this year...no big family gathering. Hopefully 2021 can get back to some normal!

Ditto Forty. Just Carol and I, and I might not choose to go either.
Seriously, she's cried over this so I said, "Let's make it special just for the two of us."
We will have the regular dinner with the trimmings and we might just set up a zoom meeting with the kids.

Re: The reality of Covid
I have really had a change of how I feel about Covid. Member brm4450 had it and was very sick and now my neighbor’s, husband and wife both have/had it and they too got really sick. She is a retired nurse and was flabbergasted at how sick she was and he told me he had the worst headache ever and it lasted for days. This was over three weeks ago and he is still weak. Now, this is a 62 year old guy who still competitively races motorcycles both MX and trials. Also drives his vintage Porsche in Auto-cross events. So a very young 62 who got the sickest he has ever been.
My wife and I are mostly staying home but being retired that is much easier for us than those out there still working particularly with kids maybe in school. We were invited to my wife’s cousins place for Thanksgiving but declined. Her cousin is retired but her husband still works daily and both of them are very social and are out for dinner or drinks often.
We have one son in California (grandkids too) and another here. California is staying home this Thanksgiving and our local son is taking a 10 year anniversary trip so won’t be coming over. Washington State has made having Thanksgiving dinner with anybody who live in another home ILLEGAL but I don’t expect that to stop most from celebrating normally.
My wife and I have decided to have a Thanksgiving protest. Stopped by the local butcher and ordered a Prime Rib! Take that!!!!

Re: The reality of Covid
Bandit well wishes. This Covid is nothing to fool with. Hang in there it is beatable. I've have several friends that have beaten it, although it is a mean one.
This holiday season my wife and I will remain home and not have family over as we usually do. We'll have a turkey for Thanksgiving and plenty of leftovers. Turkey sandwiches are great with dressing and cranberry and my wife will make up several turkey pot pies. Those go in the freezer and make a wonderful meal on a cold day.
