Well, RR, I eventually have to say it, especially with the blazing hot & humid KCMO summer we're having this year.

:!: :!: I sure would like to live up north again, and the further north, the better :!: :!:

Most of my life has been spent in northern IL and southern WI. The first years in WI we were in a city located just off Lake Michigan, and our house was only 40 blocks from the lake front. Those winter winds coming across the lake were ferocious and very, very bracingly cold. I really liked stepping out of the house to go to work around 6AM and feel that wind! Yeah, I know. There will be any number of Henry folk, as well as my family members, that probably say I'm nuts. Just the way my own thermometer is rigged.

Today was an example of what I would like to miss. We're under an extreme heat advisory, with local heat indices pushing 110*-115*, probably for the 4th or 5th time this summer. There was a good indicator of that coming when the temp hit 94* at 10:50AM today....hot morning! I needed to get some groceries, and went out to the store around 4:30PM or so. My van gauge read 105* on the way home. My home outdoor thermometer read 104* when I got home. Nuts. I know there are hotter spots in the country, but this is more than enough for me.

"Low 40's." Grumble, grumble, grumble...... :x

OK, I said my piece. It's still blazin' hot outside, but I feel a little better.
RanchRoper wrote:Might hit 80F today. Cool nights though. Low 40's. Nice. Off to the city today to buy some ammo and other stuff with the wife. Have a good day.

Yes I'm sorry to hear about the extreme heat. We get hot days here but no humidity. But we have leaves on trees turning color already too. No mosquitos at all this year. Strange.

We had a major cold front move through S.W.Pa. last night. Got cold and windy and blew all he leaves off the trees and got a few inches of snow. I took my Henry and the four wheeler up the mountain for a ride. Really felt good after all this heat. I honestly believe this was a dream but then again I did get hit in the head this week with a Harley. I even pulled the covers over me during the night. I think I might be losing it and all because of a Harley.

I'm not that far away from Pa. and it was 74 at 6:00 am here. Sounds more like "you took a trip and never left the farm"
You didn't pick any mushrooms up in the mountains, did you ?? :P

Good morning all from Jonesboro, GA, where the temperature is 74 degrees, and yes, another hazy, hot and humid day. Going to see the grand kids today and really looking forward to the visit. Take care and be safe.

7am and 70 degrees. Going to 85. Gonna be a hot one.

I have a dumpster at my house. Whole house clean out weekend.

I hope it goes smooth, but I have my doubts. Plenty of weekend work ahead.

First cup of coffee in the Henry mug in the new house this morning. It's been a long 10 days of cleaning, painting, installing and moving.
Mid 80s today. Going to the container store to get some Elfa shelving for the pantry and take the family out for some nice steak dinners to celibrate the move.
Range time is next weekend and oh how I need it.
Everyone have a great day and stay safe.

Oh yeah, moving made me question how much ammo I really need, but after I got it all stored away I thought I could use more :D sometimes you don't realize how much gun stuff you have till you move it all. Almost overloaded that uhaul's weight limit with all that lead

Rainy here the next few days. Having morning tea then off to a local gun show. Cleaned out all the horse pens yesterday with the Bobcat. Moved about 2 tons of manure. Ready for winter. Have a great day.

Good Morning all from Jonesboro, GA. The temperature is 78 degrees, factor in the humidity and the real feel is 86 degrees. Really good chance of rain today. Drinking coffee, eating some kind of breakfast bar that tastes like cardboard, getting ready to head to church. Take care and be safe.

Wet morning here. Rained hard last night. Making tea, then make my rounds to check horses out in pasture. Not much in the plan today except wearing out the pages in my new Cimarron catalog. Have a good one.
