RR good luck with this one. 18 months and then this hassle. Jeez - but it does make one wonder if this problem existed at all "back in the day". Hate to think of a buffalo hunter always having to find a tree branch to whittle down to push a case out especially if there were hostiles about. Maybe it is only uberti issue. I wonder if a pedersoli does the same assuming it was produced in 45 colt? I really hope this works out well for you.

My 4 stage press crimps at the last stage with it's own die so not sure how much I want to monkey around with anything as I have put thousands of rounds through Henry & revolver with zero issues. The brass is dirty, but that's just how it is I think.

I will live with it and shoot the heck out of it. Next weekend might try ringing a frying pan with it at 250 yds....extractor be darned, I like it!

Well, my first choice was a Sharps but they the only place I could find one in 45 Colt was C Sharps in Montana but $$$$$$ and a long lead time as well to build it. Who knows maybe that caliber would have got stuck in that too. Anyhow, I am actually not bothered as much as one might think. The original gun was never designed for a pistol cartridge so it is what it is. The rifle is gorgeous, and the shooting didn't disappoint. The wooden dowel was $5 and while I am poking out a few cases I can ponder the meaning of life.

I think of it as a primer for BP shooting with the Pedersoli Frontier when it shows up.

with all the trouble you ran into in getting it, I can well understand being very reluctant to send it back .... do you know a gunsmith who you could talk to about it .. .. I can't help but wonder if the chamber couldn't be honed out a tiny bit and resolve the problem

The guy I bought from is a gunsmith. I will see him again this month on some other business. Will ask him.
