Halloween

Post by BrokenolMarine » Sat Oct 31, 2020 8:22 am

:D :D

It's Halloween, so I decided to spend the day in costume. I dressed up this morning as a "Grumpy Ol' Man." ;)

I took my shower and donned a Duluth Trading Company long sleeve T. Black, of Course. A pair of Bad Dog Sweat Pants, Black in color. Naturally. White socks, all my socks are white, ALL my socks match ALL my socks. Shoes, Black New Balance Trainers, Black laces. It's chilly for an old man in this house, low bp, always complaining about it. I add a red/black flannel shirt. Tah dah... Grumpy ol' Man.

Hey, squirrel, Get off my Lawn!

Wait

That's what I wear every day.

Perfect costume. Nailed it.

Happy Halloween
You can tell a lot about the character of a man...
by the way he treats those who can do nothing for him.

I don't look back at the things I can no longer do, I just look forward to the things I still can.

“ ALL my socks match ALL my socks”

Classic!

My old man neighbor told me one day that he and some other retired law enforcement buddies were sitting around shooting the bull and they noticed every one of them was wearing the same white socks from Costco.

My “get off my lawn” moments are related to wild turkeys. Some times I encourage them with an Airsoft rifle.

I've lived in this neighborhood for thirty-four years and have had in excess of 100 trick-or-treaters nearly every year since. This year... zero. I'm so glad that my neighbors realize what's really scary this year.

Yeah, kind of sad. Lights off, not answering the door. 2020 can simply go away. What a messed up year.

This is why I love Halloween. These are my two neighbor kids. I had 39 kids this year. Last year I had 72.

Year 17 without a trick or treater. Location creates this but I am enjoying Sir Henry’s pic above, what cute kids who look like they are having a great time.

We had a grand total of seven this year. Last year we had one, that kid got a lot of candy. All of the kids this year were young and accompanied by their parents. The first two were absolutely adorable. A boy about 4 and his little sister maybe 2. And mama had little pumpkin number three in the oven. I held out the bowl of candy and the boy took one piece. His sister grabbed a little handful. I told the boy he could have more and he took one more piece. His baby sister went in for another handful. :D I was finally able to convince him to take a handful while his little sister dove in for one more handful. Mama was apologizing for her little candy snatcher. It truly made my day to see that little one enjoy her trick or treating.
