I awoke to hearing the garbage truck in the next street over and remembered I hadn’t taken it to the street. So I jumb out of bed and make a mad dash in my pajamas.

It’s a tough life being retarded I mean retired.

Wife had another pack of Orio's left over so coffee and Orio's till they're gone.
Party cloudy and 32 degrees. Would you believe it's supposed to be near 60 next week? I don't.
Cracked all my black walnuts yesterday. Not sure it's worth it. Not many nut meats for all the work involved.

Yep, they're a pain, but worth it. Back in the day,
I used to gather hickory & walnuts in the fall, then have them as a treat in the winter. At least the ones Mom didn't confiscate for pies. Hard to hide anything from a Mama.

Going g to be a beautiful weekend here. Its missouri early youth season in the deer woods. I wish all the little pikers an enjoyable safe time in the woods with their friends and family. Hope their hunts are successful and safe.

30º this morning with a very bright moon and clear skies. Have to work on the leaves before they are up to my knees, it has been raining so much lately I don't think they are ever going to dry out. Going to pick up some yarn today from a friend that is cleaning out his mothers house. She carded, dyed and spun wool so I can get some of the good stuff. He asked me if I wanted a loom but I really don't have time to figure that out. I knit my own woolen socks and mitten liners for the winter. It is time for me and the cats to get back into it this year. They really like yarn and are such a help but have so much fun that I try to not get too frustrated with their efforts.

31° and clear on the mountain with wind. Breakfast was excellent, and the dark roast is kicking in. It's a supply run day. Must drive 70 miles roundtrip to accomplish this. I dislike going to town. Today is also radio day. The wind from tbe last storm took my HF radio antenna down. I made the repairs and put it back up, and I'm still trying to calibrate it. If I make it back from the supply run in time I might make the net schedule. Anyway CHEERS. Oh I almost forgot today is also range day. I finally got the grip I really wanted for my AK. The color I wanted (gray) was discontinued by the manufacturer. I think I may have received the last one.

I also gathered the Hickory nuts from three trees. I think they have to dry for a while yet.

49 on its way to 62 later today with no chance of rain .... family Halloween gathering on tap for later today at one of our son's home .... being back home we can buy our favorite sausage , most happy for a return to my usual breakfast of sausage, eggs, sliced tomato and Folgers

24, dawn is approaching and looks to be clear. Beautiful picture of the sunset in the post above, didn’t even see the cows at first. Around noon I’m helping a neighbor move a small amount of firewood rounds (green and very heavy) but first I have a quandary. I have a Browning BT-99 single barrel trap that I didn’t shoot even one time this year and on a local buy/sell gun website a member is looking to buy one. I’m thinking of running up to the LGS to see what they have on hand that I might “need” to buy if I sell the shotgun......I bought both my Henry’s there so there’s that!!!

Just my normal Folgers with breakfast pending soon. (Slept in a bit this morning, my local news doesn’t come on until 7:00 on the weekends)

Awoke to about 45° which is a bit on the chilly side for this area. Should warm up to low 70's today. Eggs, bacon, English muffin, and coffee for breakfast.
