Hey All,
RR if your going to try long range shooting and being period correct are you going to try creedmore shooting positions like in the pic?
I'm no expert but I think there are more positions for long guns and handguns an such.
I had no idea people would invent such positions but Elmer Kieth used them with handguns. Some of those with rifles I'd likely fall asleep.

I had the stock cover made rough side out so it will age real nice. He usually makes them smooth side out.

I have shouldered it many times this afternoon, it is a handful with that long barrel. Weighs in around 10 lbs I think. Recoil should be nonexistent.

Congrats RR, finally sir, I know your glad to finally to have it in hand.
She looks very nice and the butt cuff and sight really set it off.
Like, I believe it was Tom said, have no doubt she'll be a shooter.
Anxiously awaiting to see some targets.

for me firing it from a standing position would require shooting sticks .... do you anticipate any changes from the way you fire you lever rifle

Bet these would make a good 45 Colt High Wall load. Shoot great in my Henry Carbine and carry some punch!
That 1100 FPS was out of my 2.5 inch Ruger Alaskan. Alliant 2400 would have good burn time in your long barrel.

Wood is not bad. Uberti is not known for fancy walnut. But not bad.

Glad to see you finally got that beauty in hand. I was afraid for a while that this would be a never ending thread of disappointment. Looking forward to seeing range reports.

Well today is the BIG day for RR this morning with his very rare and prized new High Wall rifle.
Now me being wayyy over here on the East coast I hope to hear a faint sound of a .45 Colt load zinging off in the distant Northwest around noon my time!

Took my high wall to the range tonight. First shot the casing would not eject. Again. This has been an intermittent problem since day one. Issue is the little ejector is supposed to grab the rim of the empty brass and pull it out. However as soon as it makes contact it puts pressure on one side of the case and the straight wall brass is a tight fit so it jams. I usually carry a wooden dowel to push the case out from muzzle to breech (sort of a muzzle unloader). Tonight I forgot it so 1 round and back home. Starting to think of how much black powder and caps this rifle would buy if I sold it. Seriously.

Any chance there is a smith around there that would be able to check it out for you.

The guy I bought it from. Might let him have a look. Or find it a good home and replace it with a flintlock.

Hmmm seems to me that there is a serious disease of Black Powder Manic shooting taking over in Alberta. I have it to
