I picked up some once fired brass for my 44 carbine and in the container was some 44 spec I am wondering what primer to use. I used large pistol magnum primers for the 44 mag cases but not sure about the specl cases . Any help would be great .
Powder is HP 38 and 240 gr fcp bullets from campro in Canada
Site seems to be working OK.

Unless there is a whole bunch of Specials, just toss them in a gallon zip bag for future recycling. You can download your Mag brass to Special levels, so having two different lengths just makes things messy. BTW if you are loading powerful magnum loads then use magnum primers. They are not needed for plinking “cowboy” loads.

Agree with John. Id throw the special case aside. Otherwise you will be changing the settings on your dies to use the shorter brass. 10 grains of Unique will do all you need to do with a 44 mag. Shooting full power loads all the time is something I dont do. Not sure what powder you are using.

He mentions HP-38. Isn't that the same as 231?
