A nice act... paying it forward

Post by Ozarkwoodswalker » Thu Oct 08, 2020 5:35 am

just had a good deed done toward me. On another forum ( marlin owners,) I had asked if anemone had any 30 30 ammo they wanted to sell. Its difficult to find just now at any dirt of price south of outlandish. Anyway. I figured it was worth a shot to ask. If ya dont ask you dont get....
Anyway , a gentleman on that forum, whom I dont know and of course have never met, sent me a message that he had some 30 30 ammo and that just the day before someone had given him some 44 magnum bullets and he felt like he wanted to pass on that good deed and pay it forward, and so he would like to give me a box of 30 30. I sent him my address and he shipped it to me yesterday ( at his expense!) A good deed to a stranger. Ok, so perhaps, not a cure for cancer, but still,
the world we are now living in would be much less divisive and difficult for all if we could all act as he did. Small good deeds add up. I think i will see what good I can do for someone today. I hope you guys will do the same. 👍

Good deal, yes there are still good people out there.
A couple years ago, a buddy gave me all kinda brass.
There were 2 or 3 calibers in there that I don't shoot.
So I boxed 'em up and sent them to friends that would use them.
38 spl went to VA, 7mm went to Texas, and a friend in MN had just bought a 243, so he got those.

Miss T and I have always tried to do well by others, and have found that for the most part, we have been lucky. Our regular luck, not so much, but we have had good people step up at just the right time and extend a hand. I have to think that good karma helps.
You can tell a lot about the character of a man...
by the way he treats those who can do nothing for him.

I don't look back at the things I can no longer do, I just look forward to the things I still can.

Our local gun trader website is ripe with ammo and component price gougers to the point it’s getting somewhat humorous seeing what these scumbags are attempting to sell ammo for. I played golf with an old work buddy the other day and he told me he had just finished building an AR-10 and couldn’t find any 308 ammo anywhere. I have a partial box of Sierra 168 matchkings from when I shot a 308 in matches which I no longer use. I’m going to load up whatever I have left for him so he can at least shoot his new build.

If we all do a few little favors for our fellow shooters we will survive these crazy times.

Pay it forward indeed! :D

I got a box in the mail one time from PT7 that had 45 colt brass in it. When the box came I was surprised. I kept the address and sent PT back some loaded ammo from the supplier he was buying it from for his Russian 45 colt. There are good people around

With all the craziness going on this year, it's stories like this that renew my faith in humanity.
