Came down from the cabin on Thursday. Needed to be here to show my truck that I'm trying to sell. Ended up showing it to two supposedly serious lookers. Neither is going to be a buyer. Everyone seems to want something for nothing!!!

Heading back to the cabin tomorrow.

Had a VFW meeting last night and got home about 9 with a martini waiting. I have a good woman.
Anyone else put cherry tomatoes in their martini? I love them.

When a lady has a martini ready for you, when you get home, she is a definite keeper. I'm a martini fan and will have to try that cherry tomato garnish.

When I was in college and working as a bar tender martini with the onion was called a Gibson!

Bike night at the Elk's Lodge tonight, last one of the yr. had free food tonight.
Worked out good for me as the wife has been taking care of her grandmother, and
spending the nights for the past week.
Had a couple of cold ones there, now having one more before I retire for the evening.

Be sure to cut the tomato in half and squeeze a little juice into the martini, then place the tomato half in as well.
I have also done the Gibson with a pearl onion. That's good as well. Also a little piece of jalapeno is pretty tasty.

'Fridge has beer in it, wife has some sort of Asian food simmering(yum!), and some Dodger play-offs tonight. Come about 6:00 pm, it's gonna be lazy time around here. Can't wait!

Whats the receipt for these martinis you guys are drinking and what kind of gin are you using.

I drink New Amsterdam. Not too expensive with a slightly fruity flavor. I like Tanquera, but it's pricy.
Sometimes my SIL brings me a fifth and then my first drink of the evening is that. After the first martini
I can't tell the difference anyway.
As for the recipe, Ice, gin, just show it the bottle of vermouth. Cherry tomatoes when in season, otherwise olives
or onions. As I said previously, sometimes a little piece of Jalapeno.

I have Tanguray here all the time Coop. Its the best for gin and tonics. Dont have any Vermouth need to get some. Havent had a Martini before just smelled my Dads when I was a kid and thought it was only good for cleaning paint brushes.
