Way back in February, somebody decided they liked my Marlin GBL more than I did. I ordered my X rifle the same day. It arrived on August 14'th. I haven't been able to shoot it yet but boy, is that action nice. I'm probably going to have to cut the stock shorter (I wish they were like the Tikka and had it short with spacers instead). Anybody done this yet with an X rifle stock? Too bad it wasn't wood, but I'll live with it. I need to get a picatinny for it (leaning for the skinner with built in sight so I can still have my ghost ring). Again, thoughts?
Maybe one day they will do the side gate with the case colour hardening, and a carbine. I may have two Henry's at that point (not counting the nephew's little 22 than lives here).
I've hunted around but there doesn't seem to be much for the X 45-70 out there so anything interesting about them people have found so far?
Site seems to be OK. Load issue should be resolved now.

Re: Henry X 45-70
while I've fired 1,000+ rounds through our Henry 45-70, I haven't had an opportunity to hunt with it .... personally, I wouldn't feel undergunned using ours to hunt any game at ranges up to 200 yards on the North American Continent ....
