One of the most impressive sights we saw on our recent trip to the Badlands of South Dakota was the lighting ceremony at Mt. Rushmore. About 30 minutes prior to nightfall there is a very moving presentation of the monument followed by group singing of our National Anthem. At the end of the song the lights directed to the four Presidents are lit. Following this all veterans and first responders are invited down to the stage for the lowering of the flag. My wife and I found this entire presentation to be very moving and reminded us just how great our country is, a helpful reminder in these times. Here is a pic showing just how large the monument is.
