Our Morning Coffee and Weather
Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
Coop, sorry to hear about your cousin. I can relate to your story quite well, sounds a lot like mine. I was a Tom Sawyer type. Grew up on a small farm. Ended up in Vietnam, you know how that went.
Got word yesterday that a guy I grew up with had died after spending 3 weeks the hospital. Died of Covid 19. 2 yrs younger than me.
Just never know when you number will pop up.
Take care, Brother.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
another day, another "interesting" temperature swing .... 71 at midnight last night, 58 when we got up at 7:30 this morning .... not a hint of thunder .... supposed to get up to 85 later today with no rain in sight .... the last of our NC Bass Farms Sausage that we brought with us from home, eggs, sliced tomato and Folgers have kicked off what is bound to be a very busy day
Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
55 now heading to 100+.
But.....we are leaving around noon for nearly a week at a lake in the NE corner of Washington State. Should be at least 10 degrees cooler. No hookups for our trailer so no A/C for the dog but a nice cool lake for all of us.
Folgers now with breakfast on the horizon. Have to make a quick run the the local grocery store so just might stop into Zips and grab one of their awesome breakfast sandwiches. English muffin grilled with a sausage patty, fresh fried egg and cheese. Best breakfast sandwich ever!

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
Well the area flooding rains have stopped and it's a nice 70 degrees this morning. However the surrounding area is dealing with 6 -10 inches of rain
flooding several creeks and the river. In my city a dam on the creek is weakening and if it fails would flood part of a neighborhood and highway.
More flooding with this series of rain storms than from other tropical storms and hurricanes!
Down at my range property 30 miles South along another creek the rain not as much but still enough to impact that area.

70 and bright sunshine. Nice day coming I think.
Stopped at the Long Branch after church for pancakes, bacon, eggs and coffee. Good eats.
No sliced tomatoes or scrapple though. Not here in the noth.
Finished repair on the front deck and will probably paint it today.
Then NASCAR.
Rooting for Bubba to finish last or get wrecked.

Hit a balmy 98 today, then a pop up shower left 0.43" rain. Glad I mowed the yard yesterday.

He was dominant most of the day. Rowdy finished 6 laps down, with brake issues. Made my day. Sorry, Randy, LOL.

62° on the mountain, thunder storms are coming. 5 inches of rain so far in the past 6 days. 1st cup of Joe down. The cook is preparing breakfast. Got the grass cut yesterday. Been waiting for it to dry, but that didn't happen,so I cut it wet. I hate doing that, but had no choice. You can watch this stuff grow. We have errands to run today. Cheers

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
Haven't been on the forum in a few days. Been busy. Nice morning since a small "cool front" moved through. Started off about 75° with low humidity. Hopefully we'll get some rain tomorrow. We either get lots or none it seems. Had a nice breakfast of bacon, eggs, English muffin and, of course, coffee. Getting ready to meet a foundation main for a quote on leveling the house. We had it done back in 2011 or so. We took the lowest bid and as the saying goes "you get what you pay for". I should have gone with this company at the onset. I like the way they presented the project but it was about 6K more than the others. I need to get it right before we start remodeling the house.

Coffee good... another good day ahead until its not...so im saying look to the light and be positive, but don't forget to glance around once in a while to keep an eye on where that dark stuff is that follows most of us about waiting for a chance to slip in on us... that is, be happy ( its the only way)... but be ready....
