Our Morning Coffee and Weather

Hot windy here just got back from a 36 mile bike ride. Last 4 miles pushing gusty 20 to 30 mph winds. That will make you work. 86 here now starting from 60 this am.

36 miles. That is a ride. I am assuming it is foot powered and not gas powered. Good for you!

GFK foot powered all the way. Been doing it for about 10 years now. Use a stationary bike in the winter to stay in shape. I do those kind of rides 3 times a week. The bike trails where Im at are just awesome.48 here this am and headed to the 80's again.

That is awesome! When I was younger (in my teens), I would ride about 25 miles or so. Now, in my 50s, I have been riding about 6 miles or so. I started back riding last year (just during the nice days), and I hoping to do at least 10 miles or within an hour. I do about 6-7 miles now, within 45 minutes. Mostly fun. Some work, every now and then, all street though. Once I reach 10 miles, I may try more. But, an hour, a few times a week, may work for me.

Hot and humid again today on the bayou. 89° with a "feels like" 101° with the humidity. Two days rain free now after over a week of storms. Done with the coffee and getting ready to go the garage to do some buffing on clarinet posts. It'll be hot out there.

We have a nice bike trail where I am at no roads involved. Its the Poudre River trail. I ride that all summer and fall. You can see it on Google maps. It runs from Greeley to Ft Collins. Deer Turkey Raccons and snakes cross your path on the trail. One never knows what he will see on his or hers ride. I love to ride and enjoy the quiet time it gives me. If you like it like I do you will soon ride farther and farther. Not sure what kind of bike you have but getting fit to a bike at a good bike shop makes a huge difference. Those bikes that are sold at Walmart are not what you will be riding long distances on.

Cool night for sleeping, able to shut off the air conditioner for a change. Hope August will be a little cooler than July was. Morning coffee then working on my table saw on/off switch. When I bought Craftsman power tools some years ago I never thought I would not be able to get replacement parts. How things change.

62° and fog on the mountain. Just finished my 1st cup of go juice. I'm taking the day off from any non-essential work today. I'm going to play radio. I'll be on 14.300 Mhz at 12 EST. My call sign W4MKC.

Morning, slept in a bit this AM, 67° now but gonna be mid 90's later.
Warming back up, due to be 97 tomorrow.
Gonna ease off down to the pasture here shortly and try a few more loads in the Savage.
Think I'll take a wee bit more off that trigger spring before I go.

Seventies and cloudy this morning with high humidity. Supposed to get stifling later today.
Hooray, with the new choppers I can now eat toasted bagels again. My teeth had worn to the point that there
were a lot of things I could no longer eat. I'm thinking I'm good to go again.
Going to try corn on the cob later today.

Well, I do have a Walmart special (Huffy). And, it was more than I wanted to pay for a bike. It is kind of the type I grew up with. But, it is considered a comfort bike, not a racer. My goal was/is to incorporate so cardiovascular exercise with toning exercise. I want to lift weights at least twice a week and something for cardiovascular at least three times a week. I am just looking to improve and maintain my overall condition. Hopefully when I stop working, I will be able to have a better routine.

hate to report that this morning we awoke to a North Carolina style August morning .... hot (75) and muggy (91% humidity) .... low chance of rain today, more for overnight .... breakfast delayed a bit but Folgers flowing freely though a Henry mug

Plenty of rain, and coffee and pizza for breakfast. Regardless of what I eat for breakfast, at least two cups of coffee are on the menu.

That's what got us thinking about moving to the western part of N.C. We rented a cabin in Bryson for about a week. Enjoyed the view so much that we have been looking to move to the hills.

Nice shot Mark. mid 50's here on the Krystal River. Going to the mid 80's again today Glad to see those chompers are workin again Coop. Hope you have better luck than we have getting some good sweet corn. I bought some of whats supposed to be great sweet corn because its from Olathe ,CO. I told the local City Market store I dont know where they got theres but it was terrible. The nice lady at the checkout said she wasnt charging me for the 5 ears of another sweet corn they were selling. Good customer service on her. I thanked her for being kind.

It's right about two acres up the mountain to the next switchback
