Our Morning Coffee and Weather

another beautiful morning in east central South Dakota .... 67 on its way to 83 later today with almost no chance of rain .... 8 mph wind out of the south west, that's pretty calm for out here .. .. we have a morning 40+ mile round trip to Brookings for meds and groceries on tap .... bacon, eggs, sliced tomato, and Folgers to start the day

Yup, nice start to the day. High 60s and bright sunshine.
Coffee and Orios.
Got some painting to do today.
An old friend and neighbor passed away last night. He was 90 and had farmed all his life.
Due to Covid no one could visit him for months now and I bet he was lonely. He always had
a large garden and delivered sweet corn to all his neighbors. His son now runs the farm and
is milking 150 cows and farming a section of land. Big operation.
We'll miss the sweet corn, but most of all we'll miss him.

Its sad to lose a neighbor and friend. Sounds like he had a good life. RIP.

78 right now. Spot storm just to the North cooled it off, hum. went up. Can't win.

54 going to 94. Next two days are supposed to be in the low triple digits then back in the upper 90’s. Next week is looking better at mid 80’s. Triple digits is pretty rare here, last time we had temps this hot was 2018. Fortunately when we get this heat it only lasts a week or so.

Heading out to my LGS in a couple of hours to buy a Big Boy Steel in 357. Got the scope yesterday now I just have to get a mount. Hoping the LGS will have one otherwise I’ll order it from Henry. Happy day!

Beautiful morning here. 69 and bright sun.
Coffee and Oreos this AM. Back to the old routine saving the pie for later.
Got the painting ready to go and found more rotted wood I need to replace first.
Going after lumber today.

Heading out to my LGS in a couple of hours to buy a Big Boy Steel in 357. Got the scope yesterday now I just have to get a mount. Hoping the LGS will have one otherwise I’ll order it from Henry. Happy day!

You're going to love it. I have it in brass and it is fun to shoot. I load my own ammo for it and have found some
loads that really work well.

Our gun club is owned by a veterans organization that is bankrupt. If the parent
organization goes, what happens to the range? I was asked to run for a place on the
Board, and I was elected. I do have some experience with problems like this, but
the new Commander seems very competent and has a good recovery plan.
What he needs most is support, and I do support him. Several folks have expressed
their thanks to me, but I haven't done anything yet, and maybe won't have to if
all goes well.

Thinking about purchasing a Blackstone Grill. Any thoughts?

Just an update. Had a virtual meeting last night and it looks like we will be able to save the club.
The parent organization owns four acres of prime property in the city. The board is working to sell off some of
the land to developers keeping a smaller foot print and a smaller building. The city has said that they back that
plan and will help perhaps financially as well. The gun club is twenty miles south of there in the country and
we're starting to think all will work out well.

I did purchase the small portable Blackstone so that I can take it in the Motor Home. It should be delivered
tomorrow. Looking forward to using it.

our day started out at 63 degrees under a gray sky with the forecasters not calling for any rain .... its supposed to get up to 80 later today with an 8 mph wind out of the northeast .... eggs, sliced tomato, sausage and Folgers started our day .... grilled cheese and bacon bratwurst patties on a hamburger bun have us pretty much ready for the rest of today

Finally finished up this big job we've been working on, off and on the past few weeks yesterday.
Had to get a lift for one of the gable ends. Probably 40 to 45 feet up.

low of 55 last night, 58 when we awoke .... its been a good while were we are camped in east central South Dakota since we had temps in the 50's .... they are calling for a high of 78 with a 0% chance of rain .... a simple breakfast of sausage, eggs and Folgers really hit the spot
