Hot damn Al! That's it huh? You are not going to believe how you feel when that last day at work is done. And then the first Monday. Some say it gets a bit of getting used to; naw. Like I told my wife; I've wanted to retire since I graduated from high school! She just rolls her eyes and, well, she's used to my nonsense! Have a good evening folks.

Yup been there done that more than once or twice Mark. Maybe even more than 3 times. 2 Modelos tonight and a fish sandwich that was way better than the corn on the cob we bought. It was terrible no sweet in it at all 2 bites and it hit the bottom of the trash.

Re: The Adult Evening Beverage
Funny thing is Carol and I had a bit of a spat Friday night. When that happens I just remove myself from the situation so I can't dig the grave any deeper. I go downstairs to my man cave and let her stew and fuss. By the next morning we're all OK again.markiver54 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 25, 2020 9:26 pmWell.... Saturday night, and sittn' here alone. I think this has to happen every once in a while or one spouse would constantly beat up the other. Not that I enjoy it. I just know that neither one of us is going anyplace. We've got a good thing going.

Ironic! Ours was Friday night as well. My Carol is a loving smart woman, although pretty head strong!cooperhawk wrote: ↑Sun Jul 26, 2020 1:03 pmFunny thing is Carol and I had a bit of a spat Friday night. We haven't spoken since.
I hear Ya about the Man Cave, only mine is a man house.
Believe it or not, we own two modest houses right next door to each other.
I just go home to my empty cupboard and fridge. We have all meals together at her house, so I'm un-prepared when this happens.

Re: The Adult Evening Beverage
My wife and I were a couple for fifty years before she died; forty-four of them married. I'm grateful that not a single day that we were together ever ended without a goodnight kiss and a hug. We were very lucky. Of course, we didn't have children or ex's to complicate our lives; we only had each other and I think that helped.markiver54 wrote: ↑Sun Jul 26, 2020 1:38 pmIronic! This past Friday marked three years since she passed away. I always thought I would die first; sadly, I drew the short straw. Trust me on this... time really does fly and, at a certain point, minutes together really do become precious.

Head Strong! Try being married to a Lawyer. When I met her she was a feminist attorney with politics opposite mine. Don't want to get busted so I won't say which, however she lived in the city and I in the country. I absolutely refused to move to the city and it took two years to convince her that all country folks weren't red necked drunks just looking for a fight. Now she loves it here and all the neighbors love her as well. Big change.markiver54 wrote: ↑Sun Jul 26, 2020 1:24 pmWe are on opposite sides of the political fence...makes it very difficult, and I know better. Just extra hard in these times!!
I guess I would stock up on some emergency groceries for those just in case times. You're kind of at a disadvantage if you have to depend on her for all your food.

Thanks guys for your insights and experiences.
I know we will get past this, but, already missing our usual routine.
