The reason I ask is, at our mountain cabin, we had to go down 720 feet. Because of that, we had to purchase a heavy duty pump which was VERY expensive. Hope your replacement is cheaper.

Well, they just left. The pump was down 105 feet. New pump, pipe, switch around $1700.00 with the labor.
Having the Wife happy again, priceless!

I grew up on a farm with no running water, but she didn't you see. City girl.

Thank goodness Coop. Ours, considering depth and heavy duty pump was around $5000.00 for that alone!
Add drilling, at $7.00 per foot and it was a small fortune for 1/2 GPM. Only benefit from depth is a large resevoir.
Fortunately, we have never run out of water.

The hay is all hauled! Gosh am I glad to have that job finished! Now my plan is to lay about and rest up for a few days, hopefully being rather unproductive, ( trying to keep a balance in the force don't ya know!)

Friday and its the end of the week. 66 here this am and headed to 91. Headed into the final week. Tea and oatmeal on the way out the door.

Sunshine and 70s this morning. Supposed to hit low 90s today with high humidity and stay around 80 over night.
Nice water pressure this morning and will soon take a nice shower. Feels good.
Coffee and tort this morning. Carol is doing a will for a house confined old lady this morning and I am her witness.
She does that a lot for elderly folks. Whoops, just remembered some of them are younger than me.
We often go to Nursing Homes as well. The whole family is usually in attendance.
Kinda proud of her for doing that.

70 when we woke up this morning, less than 2 hrs later it up to 78 on its way to 90 later today .... they are still calling for folks not too far north of our campground in east central South Dakota to have a heat index of 102 .... in an effort to stretch our stock of my favorite sausage we brought from home, we switched to thick sliced bacon to go with eggs for breakfast this morning .... not a bad switch .. .. not much of a chance of rain today but they are calling for a 65% chance of thunderstorms to move through tonight

I haven't been there myself in many years, but I am told that near Slayton, Mn. the Amish do a lot of pork processing. Friends have traveled there and purchased half hogs. I'll bet they make some good sausage JE. Probably not too far from where you are right now.

had to go to Google Maps to find Slayton which they say is just under 100 miles from where we are camped .... my favorite sausage is made back home by Bass Farms ===> http://bassfarmsausage.com/ .... I really enjoy their Hot sausage .... we left home with about 12 lbs and are down to 2 lbs ..

Only 88 degrees for a high today....better get my jacket out!
Got the groceries and finished cutting the yard before Noon. Heat coming back Sunday and might check out the range for a grass cut there Saturday.

Low 60’s and overcast. By Monday it should hit 90 for the first time the summer.

72 now, had 1.05 " rain, lot of lightning, knocked power out twice. Reset clock, restart PC. The most rain I've had in a while.
Ordered a new bar & chain for the little chainsaw. Old one about shot. This saw is old, probably made in the 70's. Got it off Ebay,
rebuilt like new, but it's been busy lately. Ideal for small limbs. 12" bar. Always something to take my gun & reloading money.

Yeeee Haa it's 0629 on the the mountain, and it's 62° out, and we have yet more thunderstorms to look forward to today.
1st cup of coffee is down the hatch. Breakfast will be a small one. I have to take my old dog to the vet this morning, to have his bandages changed out. He's doing real good, and hasn't messed with the dressing.

Just another hot and humid day unfolding which is forecast for most of next week. Didn't feel like loading up and cutting the grass down at the range property today.

yes, a storm featuring lightening and thunder rolled though last night but most of it passes south of us .... yes, that storm brought some rain but very little of it .... yes, that storm brought us some rain but not enough to leave a trace on the asphalt .... what it did bring with considerable force was wind ..... no clue how strong but it howled and really gave our slide awnings a workout ....71 on its way to 89 under a partly cloudy sky .... heat advisory still in place for just north of us .... not much chance of rain today, a bit higher chance overnight .... no hurry for breakfast, nothing much on tap

Coffee and the last of the tort this Morning.
Mid 70s and humid. One of those days when you can feel the heat in the air.
Rain on the way this morning and then steamy this afternoon.

This is the first day of mandatory wearing of masks. Our little Gov has mandated that we
must wear masks in all indoor places. Some would say that includes our homes, but
they say that's not the intent. If we go to a restaurant to eat they must take down
our name and phone number in case someone that day tests positive. Then what
I don't know.

Minnesota is not a hot bed of the virus.

Rainy today as we're getting remnants of Hannah. Showers off and on but not too bad. I've learned never to complain about getting rain for as sure as you do it will be followed by a long dry spell. Right now it's only 79°.
