Nice shooting Greyhawk. Looks like the Big Boy has nothing to be ashamed of.

Real nice shooting with both rifles and I'm glad they "made-up" ! Sooner or later your rifles will be wearing glasses, so enjoy while you can. Thanx for sharing. Also, nice shooting as well with your Ruger.

Grayhawk, do you know what velocity you're getting with the 19g. of 2400 in your rifles ? thanx again for the great post and results,

I really like that chest holster. I have the exact one for my 1911.

Łate to the party here. Greyhawk, that is some mighty fine shooting, both rifles and revolver. Have you shot cast bullets in those rifles? Either way, excellent shooting.

Thanks! I have a whole bunch of Missouri Cast Cowboy #1, I haven't got around to loading much of them up yet... I just got my hands on a pound of Unique. I thought of trying 8 grains with that bullet and see how it goes.

Ohh, you're going to like that load. A lot! It's my standard load for my Henry BB steel.

I have used 20 grain and really liked it. I just noticed that sometimes the brass was 'balooned' a bit with the 20 grain load and it made me a little nervous (maybe it's not a big deal). I get nice results with the 19 grain load without noticing any deformed brass. If I remember right I think that I noticed it more in the Winchester brass and not so much in the Starline brass. but I've been using the 19 grain load for quite a while and I'm happy with it. I do really like 2400 for the magnum loads and the Hornady 250 XTP is hard to beat in my opinion.
Good shooting!!

I use 19.2 grains of 2400 with 240 XTP's in my .44 mag. I've loaded up to 20 grains but 2400 puts out a lot of smoke and fire. Just before sunset it's a pretty good show to touch one off. And you're right - the 2400 makes a pretty good load especially sitting under an XTP.
