while breakfast of sausage, eggs and Folgers once again has kicked off my day, a beautifully clear Carolina blue sky, calm wind, and comfortable 64 degree temp sure is nice ....

61 here as well. Clear cool morning.
I'm almost at the point with my new store bought teeth to have that bacon and eggs I've been craving.
I have the plates, but have to wait five more weeks before they will anchor them to the implants. Still, I can eat most things right now.

Mosquitoes are very bad even after spraying yesterday.

Another big storm knocked down more big limbs. Worse than the last time. With this heat, it will take me into Fall cleaning up. Got the flag pole too

I'm all too familiar with it. Went thru one back in the Spring, that was as bad maybe worse. Can''t stay with it long with temps around 100 & HI 110. Dangerous for an old dude like me. I'll get it, one bite at a time.

Didn't see any sign of it. Had strong winds, rain, hail. Tho I did have one lightning strike that sounded like it was on top of the house,
so, could be. Think I'll take a closer look. When I was back there earlier, it started thundering close by. Headed out of the trees. At my age, I wouldn't fry up very good.

Mark, I went back & took a closer look. No sign of a lightning strike. Strong winds plus the tree is rotten & hollow. Wreck waiting
to happen. This huge Hackberry tree had about 4 big limbs, all rotten. Got 2 left now. One is somewhat solid, the other, just waiting.
I can't get up there to cut them, can't afford to have it done.
It'll be slow, but so was the last ones, but I'll get 'er done eventually. Just keep grunting, LOL

We have a very large Locust about 10 feet from the house. I noticed the other day, after a severe storm we had, that it had snapped way up high. This portion is about 10" diameter and just hanging now from about 35' up. It's only being supported by some much smaller branches. Dangerous situation. We have now scheduled to have the whole tree removed. $$$

I've got one, not quite that big, hanging up about 15'. Think I can maybe get a chain over the lower part & drag it out with the truck.
Otherwise, it could fall on my noggin when I start cutting the others.

Glad your Dog is doing better. I know how it is to try and take care of an Ill dog.
A dog we lost over a year ago had been getting treatment for cancer. The end was horrible. I spent many sleepless nights trying to take care of him.
We finally had to have him put down, had this done at home.
It is still difficult for me to even type this.

Coffee this morning with Rhubarb Tort. Just love that stuff and the Wife made it just for me.
60 this morning and a clear sky.

Carol was doing dishes last night and the water pressure quit. I checked the breakers and pump switch on
the pressure tank, and none were popped. Guess the submersible pump died. It's been in the well since
1977 when the house was built. Fair enough. It's done it's job. Calling the well company now.

Strange Summer. Staying at home due to a virus and making all kinds of capitol improvements on the place instead
of traveling.

"A HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM CDT /NOON MDT/ TO 9 PM CDT /8 PM MDT/ FRIDAY... Heat index values up to 105 expected.... for Portions of north central and northeast South Dakota and west central Minnesota." .... that area is just north of where we are camped in east central South Dakota .... the forecasted high tomorrow in our area tomorrow is 91

I purchased the house from a previous owner in 1983 and I have no idea how deep it is.
Guess we'll find out.

The reason I ask is, at our mountain cabin, we had to go down 720 feet. Because of that, we had to purchase a heavy duty pump which was VERY expensive. Hope your replacement is cheaper.

Finally a break from the heat. 71 here & raining. 0.80" so far & still at it. I was going to start on those trees this AM, but guess not.

Well, they just left. The pump was down 105 feet. New pump, pipe, switch around $1700.00 with the labor.
Having the Wife happy again, priceless!

I grew up on a farm with no running water, but she didn't you see. City girl.
