Looming shortage on components?

Made my rounds Sat. afternoon to see what I could find. LGS was closed for the 4th. Academy, total washout, Bass Pro, same thing.
Checked my usual sources online, same thing, out of stock, some, no backorder. Yep, 2012 , dejavu, all over again.
I'm not hurting, but wanted to finish a job I'd started.

You're right Forty. People buying guns & nothing to put in the pipe. It happens. I guess, buy now, hope for later.
Good thing about reloading. Use your own brass, find components here & there, occasionally.
What with the things going on in the streets, makes folks buy that first gun. Then it won't go bang.

I was just able to order six bricks of Benhrest 7 1/2 and 2k of 55 grain Hornady from Mid South. Been shopping for 2 days online and hit it just right! I am Good to go now for EVERYTHING !

Should last me a week or two anyway !

Just placed an order with MB for .45 Colt...44 Special/Mag and the .357 Pugs. Was getting low and was out of the 250 gr. 45 Colt.

Dang buddy, I made that exact same order last week.

I've used Midsouth for years, always been good for me. Covid has slowed them a bit, but not much.

Honestly I'm not shooting my main weapons that I train with anymore due to not being able to find components that I need to handload. No more shooting 5 or 6 boxes of anything. Hope it gets better soon.

Factory ammo around here is getting tight. Talking with a couple local shops last week they are hoping this will get better soon. It's starting to cut into gun sales. If folks (especially first timers) can't get ammo they see no reason to buy a gun they can't shoot. Personally, I think it's going to be at least a few months before ammo becomes readily available again. I figure I'll continue rationing myself for quite a while.

I just received delivery on my back-ordered items (primers/bullets). I am making another back order for the same. It has taken around six to eight weeks to fill the back orders, but it beats having to continually shop around.

Regarding the ammo issue...I'll just say it's an election year and you can figure the rest or unrest.
Strange times right now with a coin...aluminum can and ammo shortages. You would think it was WW2 again!
