What would be the best smokeless powder to use for reloading Win 38-55 cartridges?
I am using a RCBS uniflow measure.

I use Reloader 7 and XMP 5744. Ive never tried 3031 but alot of guys use it also. XMP works real good for lighter target and plinking loads

That all depends on what kind of loads that you want to make . Trail Boss is a good case filler for moderate loads . If you don't already have one get a copy of The Lyman Cast Bullet Handbook and then R.T.D.M.
