I remember Dale racing one day and his team keyed the mic and said "Dale, we need a caution" !!
His answer was:
"I'm workin' on it"

Another driver put a collapsible object in the tank. When NASCAR filled the tank it would only take the regulated amount. Then they would deflate the ballon type object and add a few more gallons.Cowboy Gun Fan wrote: ↑Thu Jun 25, 2020 9:20 pmMight have been Smokey Yunick. He hid gas in his Roll Bar, lol.
I think it was Geoff Bodine who routed something like 20 or 30 extra feet of fuel line. Gotta admire the innovative thinking!Sir Henry wrote: ↑Thu Jun 25, 2020 8:41 pmNASCAR lost me years ago when they made all the cars the same. Racing isn’t racing if someone isn’t try to cheat the rules. Like when they limited the size of the fuel tank. Someone put in a 1 inch line and took the long route instead of 1/4 inch and the shortest path. That got them an extra two gallons of gas. Now that is racing.

Yep. Cowboy fan, kinda like robbing a bank & leaving your drivers license on the counter.Cowboy Gun Fan wrote: ↑Mon Jun 29, 2020 4:02 pmI've been searching around here and there as time allows and just about every site out there is bashing Nascar big time. But, time will tell. The fans in the stands, the viewership and the sponsor support will be powerful indicators.
I never thought I would see it, not this much this quick anyway. Kind of reminds me of the Andy Griffith show where Andy said "Ben, it's almost like you want to end up in the pokey"!! It's almost like Nascar wants it destroyed themselves.
