Blaney & Ford wins. I'm happy.

Re: NASCAR 2020
CBS News had reported on their Fbook page that it was a serpintine drive belt that was hanging but then they quickly took that report down.
Most mechanics would think nothing of a looped belt hanging off some hook. Plus the "news" wants to keep this story going.

Move on, there is no reason for the waving of the Confederate flag, the war is long over and there is no place for it.BigAl52 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 22, 2020 9:20 pmRebel Flags here for sale https://stainlessbanners.com/collections/rebel-flag

Re: NASCAR 2020
The Confederate flag & the Confederacy are a part of Southern
history. It has nothing to do with racism. Removing flags, statues, busts, movie cars, pancake syrup labels, are ridiculous,
and solves nothing. I intent on getting one & displaying it.
That's my story & I'm sticking to it.

Re: NASCAR 2020
The confederate flag does represent southern heritage to many Americans, but it also represents white supremacy to a significant and growing number of others.
Time and events change perceptions. Consider that the Swastika also had a benign meaning before Hitler adopted it, but the world still views it as a symbol of facism.
https://www.bbc.com/news/magazine-29644591 wrote:[The Swastika] was used by American military units during World War One and it could be seen on RAF planes as late as 1939. Most of these benign uses came to a halt in the 1930s as the Nazis rose to power in Germany.

Very true Coop. There are some that are not quite ready, ( and maybe never will ) to accept LGBTQ. however, there is a new couple that just moved into our neighborhood and have a tall flag pole with a big rainbow flag at the top.cooperhawk wrote: ↑Tue Jun 23, 2020 10:57 amActually it's a free speech issue. Re: NASCAR 2020
Many seem to be jumping on one side, but how about the other side?
When Lincoln invaded Virginia, soldiers fought and died defending their homeland. Most of them were not slave owners. Many were not even pro-slavery. We have a saying on a Civil War site I belong to. "No man fought so another man could keep slaves".
Then the horrors of Sherman, Sheridan and Hunter. Inflicting hardship and worse on innocent citizens, many who were anti-slavery to boot. Many fought and died trying to save their homeland from these villains.
This, is the other side of the Flag. Honoring and remembering the ones who died for their service and the Southern Pride that goes along with it.

Fact: None of my father's family was even in the USA at the time of the War.
My mother's family was in KY, which from my understanding was a fairly neutral state.
I have always just thought it was a COOL looking flag.

REUTERS/Axel Schmidt wrote:A widely circulated image on social media makes the claim that the Confederate battle flag’s colors have religious significance. This is false.
The posts say: “The red represents the blood of Christ. The white border represents the protection of God. The blue ‘X’ represents the Christian cross of Saint Andrew, the first disciple of Christ Jesus and patron Saint of Scotland. The 13 stars represent the 13 Southern states of succession.”
Ted Kaye, a vexillologist (flag expert) with the Portland Flag Association and Secretary of the North American Vexillological Association, told Reuters this description was “mostly inaccurate”.

Well the first paragraph states:The Confederate flag was flown by the breakaway southern states, which defended slavery, in the 1861-65 American Civil War.CT_Shooter wrote: ↑Tue Jun 23, 2020 1:11 pmREUTERS/Axel Schmidt wrote:A widely circulated image on social media makes the claim that the Confederate battle flag’s colors have religious significance.
