Mom back in the ER.

Post by Shakey Jake » Tue Jun 09, 2020 6:21 pm

I've been in B'ville, Ok the past couple of weeks as some of you know. I had to get mom back to the ER again today. This is two days in a row. The home health nurse came by and said she had to go. Her BP was 82/34 and pulse 58. Her O2 level was 58. I haven't been allowed to go back yet to see her. Will let you know how it goes.

Glad you're taking good care of her, Jake. Sorry she's in such poor condition.

We'll, they put her in ICU and was told she would be there for several days. She was given an IV with a drug that got her blood pressure back to normal. They're having to deal with her congestive heart failure and believe she's septic. Thanks for the prayers and will update as I can.

She managed to eat a bit of her meal last night. She went right back to sleep after. She's not lucid right now. She's traveling in her mind from present to past and back. She thought I was 22 (I wish) for some reason for a while. Hopefully that's just the meds. Getting ready to go back this morning.

Mom slept a good 95 percent of the time I was there yesterday. Her vitals are looking better but not where they need to be. Dr. Said the hope to move her by Monday.

We'll, she still can't maintain blood pressure without meds. She's really weak and I can't understand what she's saying even with my ear almost on her mouth. I reluctantly told her it was okay to go if she wanted. Her other vitals are okay. I'm going back home to get my eye injections Monday. My cousin is coming in from Kentucky with his wife to spell me for the week.

I haven't posted in a bit. Just too busy with her. Drs have stopped all life saving efforts and she's going to hospice. I came back to Sugar Land to get my eye injections Wednesday and then head back up. Thanks for all the support.

My condolences, Jake. For as long as she's able to understand you and as often as you can, I would let her know how much she is loved and how much she will be missed -- and it's OK to let her see you cry.

Peace be with you.

So sorry to hear this Jake. Never easy, but the time comes for all of us.
I know your Mom is headed for a better place and you will both be together again when your time comes. Love, and memories never die. This all went through my head recently when we almost lost my Dad. I know that time is not far off, however, these are the facts of life. Not easy, but, something we all have to accept.
I do hope your Mom can hang in there long enough for you both to share loving thoughts and memories.
Peace be with you and Mom both....Godspeed!
I'm your Huckleberry
