Getting my BBS ready.

Getting my BBS ready to send back to Henry. I had to cool down a little bit just to write this post. I am just really tired of having to send my new guns back to the manufacturer to have them fixed. Out of the last 8 guns I have bought in the last 4 years I have had to send 6 of them back to the factory for a bore on an AR that was so small the bolt blew out the back of the stock to a Savage target rifle that wouldn't break a 3" group at 50yds.

The reason I went with Henry was because of their reputation of making quality rifles. I should have done a little more research and found out that Henry has a better reputation for fixing their guns than initial quality. This may be a rant that I am not sure is justified but I have purchased 2 Henrys in the last 3 months and both of them will be going back to Henry. The Pioneer is great except for a lever that doesn't fit the stock but the BBS has been nothing but a pain trying to get consistent accuracy.

I just hope it gets fixed the first time. I guess I just hoped that when I pay good money for a gun it will come out of the box ready for years of shooting, guess I am just being naive.

understandable .... while I don't know of a company that mass produces firearms that is perfect, I too tend to expect to get what I pay for .... we have 3 Henry rifles .... one has been sent back twice ... oddly enough, its my favorite .... any more, I've come to realize that dealing with a company that if it ain't right, they will make it right is a very important part of the purchase .... when the company will make it right from now on out, that's a significant bonus

Im like Jim Ive sent one back twice and another one once. The last one was just the first part of this year. Ya I dont like it either but when it comes to leverguns its Henry and Marlin. Im not ever buying a new Marlin again.

BigAl, Ever and never can be some rough words. Who knows, something may happen and a Marlin may be the answer? I remember saying that I would not buy another GM product about 20 years ago. Now, I am looking at a fourth one.

Trust Me GFK there will not ever be another new Marlin bought by me or a new Remington. I might buy another JM Marlin but not one made by Remlin there are to many horror stories about them and I own one that should have never left the factory. I have yet to find a load that it shoots well. Vehicles are another story. Good luck with the search for the forth. I hate buying vehicles of any kind.

Thanks for all the feed back. I think Henry will make it good. My son teases me about being a bad gun magnate for all the trouble I have had with new guns. We bought identical AR's at the same shop at the same time. His shot 1" groups and didn't have problem Mine had a small bore and blew the bolt back through the stock. I have to admit I am getting superstitious.

I think that it is getting harder and harder to find good help. Meaning, a person who believes in a honest day of work for a honest day of pay. To me, more and more people are wanting to get paid more for doing less. So, quality and quantity of work goes down while the price goes up. That is why I try and do as much as I can myself.
