What did you do at your reloading bench today?

this morning I've called our local major gun shop, Cabela's and Bass Pro looking for Unique and/or Bullseye powder .... the local store doesn't have any and has no clue when they will get in another shipment .... Cabela's doesn't have any, hasn't had a regular powder shipment in over a month, and has no clue when the next one will come .... I've tried several different departments and nobody, but nobody, answers the phone at Bass Pro .... there are few places I can check when we get out west, I'm sure glad I stocked up a while back

Finished re-sizing 136 pcs, 9mm brass. Nothing but rain for days, can't work outside, might as well attack the bench.

I ordered it from my favorite gun store in early February, arrived yesterday.

I have stated in past posts I am a wheel gun guy. I carried a 1911 for almost 40 years, but a wheel gun guy at heart. I bought a new Python when I was young and dumb in 1972 for $350.00. Being a young single guy with no money, I ended up selling it 6 months later and always regretted it.

I will say that it is every bit as polished and smooth as the originals. I am looking forward to some range time to get reacquainted with my old friend.

Very nice! Look forward to a Range Report when you get the chance. I put my name on a list at LGS back in Feb. but never heard anything and have since spent that money on two other revolvers. Wonder if they will bring out the blued versions?

I am lucky, I have a great relationship with my gun shop and they have really worked wonders for me. They ordered my Henry side gate 45/70 and were able to get me the 61st rifle made when no one else could find them.

I actually made an order for both a 4 and 6 inch. Yesterday when I came in my contact told me that another customer came in earlier and asked if they had any Pythons. He regretted telling the man yes, that he just got one in for one of his customers. The guy offered him $2,500 cash on the spot for the Python. Many shops would have said fine, but my shop is very professional and respects their customers so he was told no. The guy said "I have more money"!

My contact said in his discussion with Colt they will not bring out the blued version. The main reason is that the original Python Blue was a custom royal blue only for the Python. It was timely and expensive to produce and they will not be bringing it back.

He also told me that I would not see the six inch until August or Sept.

It will be a couple of weeks before I am able to get to the range, but will post Chrono and picts and plan on comparing it to my 4 inch 686 Smith.

I received my 210gr 45 colt bullets from Matts Bullets. I also got some ammo and magazines 762x39 for my AR. Now I just need to load up some of those 210's

Threw some 45 colt brass in the tumbler to clean them up. I loaded 25 rounds with 6grs of red dot and 25 rounds of the RR load of 7grs of universal both with a Matts 210gr bullet. Need to go shooting again and talk out the 45 colt pistolas.

Had to replenish my stock. Loaded up 25 Trailboss 405 Missouri Loads and 25 Universal 350 ACME bullet loads.

Love the pics of those reloads! I just got the 405 Hi-tek from MBC myself. Loaded up 20 to test on my Henry and shot them off yesterday. I noticed they come out to only 2.53" OAL instead of the 2.55. Does that seem to affect anything? I decided to keep the starting (and maybe finshed?!) charge in the low range and started with 33.5 grains of IMR 4198. I started there because I like using the Lee dippers on the big cartridges if I can and the 2.8cc threw about 33.5 when measured on my scale. They seemed to shoot good for me. Do you adjust for the shorter (more compressed) case? Anyone shoot these through a chrono at various charges with IMR 4198?

...also, I have been looking at the ACME bullets as well.... I see the 405s they have are .458" and the MBC are .459. Have you (or anyone else) compared the two bullets in the Henry and, if so, any difference between the company based on quality and accuracy?

I ordered 500 more MBC Hi-tek 405 grain Buffalo and 500 180 grn for the .357 a month ago, still has not shipped yet. MBC is quite backed up in orders.

I began depriming and cleaning the primer pockets on large Folger's coffee can full of mixed 38 special brass .... completing this task is going to take a while

After I left the VA, Mon. am, I decided to wander thru Sportsmans Warehouse. Ammo, reloading supplies were spotty. I did find a bag of 50 Starline 45/70 brass. It followed me home.
With the military discount, it was cheaper than online. No .458 bullets, no small pistol primers. Guess panic mode is still in effect.

Cleaned five rifle barrels from yesterdays range session. Took apart one of yesterdays rifles to give the trigger a little deeper sear engagement and adjusted the pull at 14 oz. Maybe shoot again tomorrow.

I have no clue how many 38 Special cases a 5 lb 3 oz Folgers coffee can holds but do know its a bunch of them .... hopefully I can finish depriming and cleaning the pockets of all of them in the morning .... when finished with them, I'll move on to 357's
