HiPoint nut driver.....

Post by fortyshooter » Sun May 17, 2020 3:54 pm

Went to the range this morning to do some work and also shoot my .45 ACP HiPoint carbine. Also brought along my .45 Colt
Bulldog for a few quick draw point shooting.
Now after wearing a ragged hole in the target from a leisurely 25 yds. with the HiPoint shooting my 230 gr./6 gr. Unique loads I found a few red wire
nuts in the range shed and said why not give it a shot.
So popped one in a hole in target board and from 25 yds. it disappeared on the 2nd shot with first shot just to the right.
I had my EOtech sight dimmed a bit just to show a small red dot which showed up well on the now darker wire nut from that distance.

No tacks to drive but it's a very nice nut driver!! Found a piece or two of the wire nut and one piece was stuck in the target board.
Did the same shot a couple other times....have to pick up another bag of those one day!

The HiPoint is amazing on function and reliability. I just took it out the gun cabinet and put it in the truck no check for cleaning or lube.
It's has been in the cabinet for a while since last shooting and it just runs all the time! Fired 40 rounds thru it today with no issues and my brass catcher got all the cases!

Now the little Bulldog .45 Colt did what it does in a 7 yd quick point and shoot out my back pocket holster.
It does hop around a bit but got the first hit in the zone with 3 others low right. Have to shoot that one a little more.
Those rounds are what I carry being a custom 230 gr. big wad cut round nose I made out of a 255 gr. round nose flat point.

A great day of doing some range work and some fun shooting!

Added this picture of the red sight ring you see in the EOtech sight. Great for accurate shots!

Love my pistol caliber carbine. Nice shooting Forty. Did you see my question about the strap you use on the Ranch hand

I must have missed that question Al. It's just a sling/strap I had from a rifle scabbard with a hook on both ends and is adjustable.
Most anything will work.
A .45 ACP carbine is a good shooter to have!
