My first Henry and its an X
Picked up my new X model 45-70 Yesterday. Got it home and checked the fit, looks like it will do nicely. Loading up some Trail Boss and 405 Missouri Bullets to get acquainted with her this weekend.

Let me know how you like that load; still considering a 45-70 Sharps one day.

Look forward to your input on shooting the 45-70 with a suppressor.

If you want to keep it quite and want more "horsepower", remember mass is your friend when speed limited.

Re: My first Henry and its an X
is the suppressor designed to reduce sound, recoil or both ..

Re: My first Henry and its an X
Its designed to reduce sound but often times it also reduces recoil. It may be a day or two till I try out the suppressor. Want to get a good feeling for how this one shoots and what loads it likes before adding weight out there on the end. It changes the harmonics of the barrel, sometimes a little sometimes alot. My 6.5 Creedmoor bolt gun doesn't care whether its suppressed or not, shoots the same. One of my .223 bolt guns goes low and right 4" at 100yd with the suppressor on, but it does it every time so I adjust.
