Once the sponsors stated their position with affiliation to with Kyle, it left Chip no choice but to let him go. He just learned a very hard lesson
in accountability. I wish him well, I enjoyed watching his racing style when he was competitive on the track.

Fox just re-ran an '09 Talladega race.

I believe I enjoyed it as much this time as I did the first time.

Watched iRacing for the first time today.

The technology is amazingly detailed.

William Byron won at "Richmond".

I watched it too for the first time today. Pretty neat. I have a NASCAR simulator on my PC at home, that I've been doing since 1994.
It's not an arcade game, it's very similar to what they're using now, tho, not as up to date ( or expensive ). It has the garage area,
where you can make your setups to the chassis, etc. Sierra, the company that made the software, quit in 2003. That's the one I'm still
using. The speed & times you see are in real time, so, if the speedo says 192mph, that's what you're actually doing.
The graphics & detail are amazing. It is one heck of a lot of fun, but also stressful, in that you really get into it. I've caught myself holding my breath at times without realizing it. Kinda embarrassed myself once racing at Talladega. We were going thru the front
stretch & there was a wreck up front. Rusty Wallace turned sideways in front of me, I T-boned him in the side & fell forward just
like if I had actually hit him. I was that into it, LOL.
I was going to put a short video clip of a race , but can't get the forum to take it. Says invalid format.
I've spent a lot of hours on there, passing the time. BTW, I have won a few.
Still love to get in the real thing & make a few laps.

I did the Petty Experience back in 2001 or 2002, anyway, It was an experience for sure! One I'll never forget. Was a Christmas gift from the wife.

a bunch of folks are pushing NC's Governor to reopen Charlotte Motor Speedway for a Memorial Day race without fans in the stands

Glad you got to do that Mark. I was going to do the same thing back in the 80s'. Petty was going to be at the Nashville track. Well, I got sick, plus it was rained out. Never got another opportunity.

Been watching racing at Talladega . Bowman won. Next on Fox is the first live broadcast of the Daytona 500, Feb. 1979. Should be fun. IIRC, there was a big wreck & fight at the end.

Well, that was fun. Petty won, Donnie Allison & Cale Yarborough
wrecked together & got into a big fight in the grass. Both were
fined $6000, Petty won $79000. Big change from today.

I was lucky enough to be able to watch that race live back then.

Was sure a historical race.

That race put NASCAR on the map. Interest went sky hi after that.
It would be nice if they could do the Charlotte race, but it would be difficult to keep 6' apart in the pits, and pit stops. Maybe they
can figure it out. Keep your fingers crossed, LOL

NC's governor has approved holding a Memorial Day race at Charlotte with no fans .... it will be interesting to see if it happens

In other Nascar news, Matt Kenseth is taking over the 42 in place of Kyle Larson.

Pretty good choice by Ganassi.

Joe Gibbs should pick up Kyle Larsen. Then he would have book ends. The Kyle and Kyle show.
They have a lot in common if you think about it. I do like a little controversy.
