Tales from the 1st time buyers

Hah! I bought a BB 357 with the brass receiver. I will be heading to the city to pick it up in a few. Its an hours drive.

I purchased one of those a year ago. It is indeed a beautiful rifle and fun to shoot. The other thing is it's pretty darn heavy if you plan to carry it hunting.
I do love it though.

Ever since I had the joy of carrying a BAR on a 5 mile hike at Pendleton in '63 I've never complained about the weight of a civilian hunting gun. Maybe you just need to spend some time at the gym.

Isnt that what a sling is used for?

A sling! I could not bear to drill a hole in that beautiful rifle for a sling.

I agree with you. I'd never consider drilling a hole in my BBB.

But, there are other ways to attach a sling to your Henry. Quite good looking, too.

Curious. Why does Henry put sling studs on many of their line, but not all. Doesn't seem to be any consistency to it. My BBSC came equipped for a sling.

I don't recall ever reading an explanation for it (maybe someone else does), but I suspect that they consider which of their rifles would more likely be carried in the field when they decide to include sling studs. It's a good question for Anthony.

My RLO sling (without the cartridge bandolier). Bought through BrassStracker. Currently Brass Stacker isn't taking any more orders. They got too busy to keep up. They say they will begin taking new orders beginning May 1st.

Didnt plan to drill. I was going with ome of the no drill options listed above.
