well, our parts didn't come today .... Amazon has updated the order's status accordingly :

hopefully the order will come tomorrow .... that would be just my luck, they are calling for a 100% chance of rain ...

parts arrived ... still rainy and cool .... much better weather predicted for tomorrow so my plan is to assemble the portable press and put it to work tomorrow .... can't help but wonder what (if any) bugs will have to be worked out

received 2 different hitch stabilizers today .... the both have the same size U-bolt but the one on the left in the first picture is a much stronger clamp .... since our setup will be put up and taken down often, I plan to try wingnuts .... my goal is to require the smallest possible number of tools

per the A-Team's Hannibal, "I love it when a plan comes together" .... after backing our truck into a position where I could sit on our concrete deck .... figured it would be easier to find the things I was sure to drop .. .. first picture, I found another bad R-P case .... both stabilizers shown above work and work well .... the second picture shows the heavier duty clamp (on the left in the pictures in the post above) mounted and in use .... the second set shows the lighter stabilizer .... the lighter one is easier/quicker to install and remove so my first inclination is use it .... the plan is to use the heavier duty one to stabilizer the carrier we use on the back of our camper .... but as always, our plans are absolute and final, subject to change at any second .. .. we now have 50 rounds of 300 WBY to send down the range

a few lessons learned today :

1. even a slight wind will influence the digital scale of our RCBS Charge Master Combo ====> https://www.cabelas.com/product/RCBS-re ... s?slotId=0 .... the clear plastic cover that can be seen in the link is usually removed when it is working .... I found that closing it helped

2. the portable press will never be as solid when mounted to something with a suspension .... that said, the addition of the stabilizer makes it more than solid enough to do the job

3. I need to come up with a ground cover to make it easier to find the stuff I drop

4. all in all I enjoyed the first time experience of loading outside

Can't you just use a jack on the rear of the vehicle taken up just enough to take the weight off of the springs and give you rock solid base for your press.

I suppose you could, suggestion appreciated .... I'll know more with further use if doing so would gain enough to make it worthwhile .... she's pretty solid as is

FURTHER UPDATE :

today I used our Chargemaster outside .... under calm conditions it works just as well as it does inside .... under windy conditions it takes some creativity to get it to work .... I found that closing the cover that can be seen in the link above, while it is dispensing powder really helps .... turning the front (keyboard side) into the wind and closing the cover works even better .... that being said, a calm day is much preferred
