Have to be precise with your grocery order!

Post by fortyshooter » Thu Apr 16, 2020 4:51 pm

Our 2nd week of having groceries delivered by Insatcart from one of the local stores and so far so good.
However my wife is learning to be precise about her order/wording. She entered "apple" without the s attached and that's what we got
one apple in the bag!
The shopper does stay in touch by text if a substitue item is required.

Lucky you. I tried to sign up for it and it was too busy. None of the sites had any openings locally. I guess you have to be precise. Was it good?

Instacart is a big city thing. It's 100 miles from the nearest participating grocery to my house. Don't think I'd want to do that unless they have a helo and will do free delivery. In fact, I probably wouldn't do it if they were next door either. I'm not that trusting of complete strangers. Don't have a smarty phone either.

I feel the same Gunny.
We have instacart available close by, but we won't use them either. From what we were told, they can set their own prices for products and service. I'm with Ya on the complete stranger thing as well.

.
We've used Instacart via Costco and the higher prices aren't unreasonable. Worth it to us to not have to go out ourselves into the Costco crowds.

I’m right there also. My wife keeps telling me we should use it but I do most of the grocery shopping. I’ve seen how they select the meat and produce. I am much pickier about quality and expiration dates than the high schooler that does the shopping for on-line customers.

We tried the instracart. Got message account canceled, Had just set it up.
Did the Walmart route. I go to pick it up. I just went for 3rd time yesterday. They just put your groceries etc in vehicle. My Suv lets me just open the back hatch and close it from the drivers seat.
They have been very busy and on my second trip I was there two hours waiting for my stuff.
They don't always give you what you ordered. When available they will replaced with a like item. The person who delivers ask if you are ok with the replacement. ( It is listed on your notice then your order is ready)if not they will remove it and credit you.
So for now we will continue with Walmart.
My wife will clean everything that is possible to clean with soap and water. Those that are not she will carefully remove from package without touching it and sort of pour into large freezer bags.
Due to our age it does not look like physical shopping is going to happen for us in the near future.
Seems that I am not going to be able to get the Henry I want if it becomes available.(Model x 357)
