I'm suffering from withdrawl

I had some minor(ish) surgery last week. Nothing major, just something I needed to get done before it got a bunch worse, or I got too old to get over surgery.

Anyway, part of the recovery is not being able to lift and do certain things. Going to the range seems to be one of the things I probably shouldn't do for a while. I should be good to go by the end of the month. I miss time at the range with my daughter, and I miss shooting the Henrys.

Maybe I'll see if my daughter wants to go, and I will just watch her have a good time shooting. That's a lot of what I enjoy about the range trips anyway.

BTW, so far I am doing quite well. Just more than a little bored sitting around the house. I would walk a little more, but temps are not low enough to do that until the sun goes down. I normally work until the wee hours, so getting up at 6:30 is unlikely. Can't even do some reloading. Pulling the handle a couple hundred times in a session seems like a recipe to strain the blowout patch.

Sorry to hear that you will not be able to shoot for a while. But if you needed the surgery then I suppose that it is for the best. I wish you a speedy and complete recovery.

Relax first and get well soon! And glad to hear you are "doing quite well." That's a thumbs up for sure.

Better to suffer this brief withdrawal from shooting your Henry than to "test" any needed recovery and do things too quickly! And by the end of the month, you never know. The temps may drop some and the range will be even more inviting.

Surgery is never easy (I've had too many), but it is always advisable to take care and allow time for healing afterwards. The good thing about growing older is that time passes so much more quickly than it used to, though healing does take a bit longer, as well.

Watching ClovisPup shooting that Henry sounds like a great way to pass some of the time!

I agree. Like taking my wife and daughter fishing. I never get to fish because I am too busy taking fish off the line and re-baiting hooks, but I still have a blast watching how excited they get.

Still, it is a lot of fun when you get to do it yourself, either fishing or shooting.
