Questioin about receiver cover

When I broke down my New Henry, all the cover holes aligned fine but one. I had a hard time with the forward hole on the left side. It was difficult to get the screw into it. Has anyone else experienced this? Also I marred the screw. Where can I get replacements?

I have not had any trouble with mine. But I think if you call Henry customer service they will likely send you a replacement screw. And you can describe the issue to them.

Disregard, I found out what the problem was. Stupid me, did not take out the magazine when installing. At least I think that was the problem. Anyway I got it fixed. It was off just enough to not seat firmly. I will still call and get some more screws, and I will be ordering a decent set of screw drivers specifically for guns

That's one of the best things to get if you want to take guns apart. I learned by buggering up a few screw heads on nice guns. A good set that is dedicated to your gun area, not the tool box.

Henry would certainly have helped with a replacement screw...they are always the first and best place to go to for help with our rifles. But I've found that Numrich Gun Parts Corporation http://www.gunpartscorp.com/ is a helpful company to find gun parts. I've used them a couple of times for non-Henry parts. It worked well for me.

Suggestion on gunsmith screwdrivers. I had some specific needs for a couple of very small screwdrivers to work with a rear adjustable sight on my revolver. Found this web site, http://www.graceusatools.com/product-ca ... egory_id=1 and the owner actually spent time on the phone with me and suggested tool sets that had the sizes I needed. I bought two screwdriver sets from Grace USA, and have used them a lot. Very quality equipment.

I use a Dremel tool shape tips for my inch pound torque wrench.

I bought a set of these at my local gunshop. I paid a few dollars more, but still cheaper than paying shipping on these.

They are not high end tools, but are definitely up to the job IMO for occasional work. I used them to pull apart both my BB and H001. There are a lot of different bits available in this kit to match up to the screws used.

Call Henry they will send you 4 screws free, they did that for me along with barrel bands.

No, magazine, lol, sorry, it has been a long time since I shot a tube feed 22. Also thank all for the advice, I ordered a set of Grace screw drivers and a wheeler torque wrench. Something I should have purchased decades and a thousand scratches ago. I will call Henry for more screws, I notice that most online stores want about 5 bucks a piece.

I have no idea how you did it but a common mistake when assembling most anything is to tighten screws. Don't do that. Get all screws started loosely then go back and tighten them down. Hope this helps.

Sorry, I was talking about "inner Magazine".

Update: called Henry today, and politely asked to purchase 4 cover screws that "I" messed up due to my negligence and at fault damage to the cover plate screws. I emphasized, it was not Henry's fault, I was new to the firearm and quite willing to pay for my inexperience on this firearm disassembly and reassembly. They insisted to send the cover plate screws at no cost. Am I a believer in Henry great customer service? He%% yes.
Note* The call to Henry was answered withinn two rings.
