Thanks, very nice and yes, sad also. But I have always said that they are a good friend, but just don't live long enough. I have lost a few in my lifetime. That's why I can never understand how anyone can mistreat a dog, or any pet for that matter. A long time ago, on another forum I wrote that my dogs sometimes have spent so much time in my lap that I fear that I have taken them for granted and sometimes didn't really realize that they were there until I looked down and noticed. But then I reflect on the fact that they just want to be there more than anywhere else. They want to be part of the "pack" and you are their "leader". God bless them all.Image

That hit really close to home. My daughter has a Great Dane that was just diagnosed this week with arthritis in her back and hips. The dog is getting very irritable due to the pain and discomfort. The vet put her on a couple of medications to ease the pain and calm her, but we all know the time will soon come when even that won't work.

Not easy to let go of a good friend.
