7 g variation in a 250 g bullet is just under 3% .... for plinking loads and ranges, I'd say my normal wobble would have more impact

You're right.... You certainly don't have a corner on the market when it comes to the normal wobble! I have my share of it. Also, I've started wearing readers over the last 5 years.. I can't see to great with open sights without my glasses on and I see worse with them on. But I like the idea of not having a scope on every firearm that I own.

I thought the same way regarding my Henry's. With irons, I simply lose focus and get bleary eyed after about 6 shots. Could not see my sights well and was getting scattered "groupings". The slim Leupold 2-7 took care of that. For rifle shooting, my peepers don't co-operate. Hope you fare better.

That was just 10 shots at 25 yards. We have a system blowing in tonight and it was howling out at the range, so I just wanted to get Forty's birthday present done quick! That being said, those were the Missouri Bullets with 7.7 grains of universal behind them.. When the weather clears that is the next load I want to try at 50 and maybe longer.
