My wife has bird feeders in the yard that the local deer like to get the scraps on the ground from. Haven't filled them for awhile so here they are as I come back from doing chores last week....

The funny part is most if not all of them were born in the bush behind our garage. They hang around almost year round. One of those ones would be one that I pulled out of a barbwire fence when it was a baby. Tried to jump, got hung up in the bottom strand and screamed like a little girl. I grabbed it by the hind legs with mama watching me and hoisted it up and over the fence. My wife enjoys them hanging around, and they always trot out the little ones in June for a walk around the place.

Some folk are "going back in time" nowadays, RR. One thing however. As long as the countryside isn't like the painting you love in your thread "Bad day at the office....," then in the middle of nowhere is appealing.

Ya they don't look their best right now....combination of shedding, snow and mud....on another note, couldn't wait for the High Wall any longer so I made one....biggest icicle on the ranch!
