45/70 Reload using 250 grain Barnes TSX 45/70

Post by Allen » Fri Jul 08, 2016 9:20 am

I am getting ready to reload some 45/70 for deer hunting. Distance here in Ohio, 150 yard max. I have 250 grain Barnes TSX 45/70 Bullets. I use the 250 grain Hornady in my muzzle loader and love this weight/flatness/expansion results. Thus I am starting with 250 grain for my 45/70.
My question is; does anyone have experience with accurate loads for this setup and would care to share them with me?
Thanks in advance for any help!

I'd go to the source and pick up a copy of the Hornady reloading manual.

Just reread this. I got confused 1st time I read and commented. Duh!

And 150 gr. For my 303 British.
Never used them. But they sure look BAD.

Those loads are moving pretty good for a 45/70.
