Working from home

At the end of last week, I made the decision to transition to working from home.

The transition was not as bad as I thought it would be so far. I was able to borrow an extra monitor from work. I had an old table up in the attic that I bought in a company auction when I worked for Baxter Healthcare that I’ve turned into a desk.

Yesterday, I surprised my wife and daughter by taking them to lunch. We walked down to the kitchen table.

Good transition, good choice to do so. My sister made a similar move to work at home last year.

Your home office looks great, especially with the nice view from the windows. Really like the comfortable "casual attire" carried by your co-worker. Your Baxter work table reminded me that my Mom worked a long time during the late 70s into the 80s for Baxter Pharmaceuticals. Basic production work like making plastic containers, bags, packaging for meds, etc. The folks lived for 30+ years near Baxter's headquarters in Deerfield, Illinois, which was established there in 1975. I recall Mom mostly liked the job and also made some good friends there.

I worked up at Baxter’s Round Lake facility in the 90s. I was in the plants that packaged cephalosporin and penicillin products then in a pilot plant for developing blood treatment components.

I actually had a similar set-up to the one now but with curved monitors. For me, 1 curved monitor worked well, but with more monitors I found I liked the flat ones better.

I have a Rossi Ranch Hand and think it would make a great SBR. They are finished a bit crude and need some polishing but with a few hours of work you can make them cycle like butter.
