My Experience At Sportsman's Warehouse Today

I took the plunge to go into town yesterday because I was all out of 9mm ammo. The Gun Store was packed, and the people seemed rushed, and maybe panicked. There were people buying guns left and right. I had to wait for 10 minutes before someone could help me. It's nuts out there.

I'm thinking if you only had to wait ten minutes and were able to purchase ammo, you got lucky. Since all this started, I haven't had to go near a gun store. I've seen enough on the news. My .357 180's came in, shop owner called to ask if I would wait on them as he is swamped. No problem.

I just got in to shooting the 9mm cartridge. To date , no reloading for this caliber. That will probably change. 200 rounds ought to be good for awhile, as long as I don't get carried away. The little M&P 9SHIELD is just for EDC.
Yes I am lucky for only a 10 minute wait. Didn't bother me, especially when I looked at the ammo supply this place has. Lots & lots of ammo. I'm good with the rest of my supplies. Just have to weather out the storm. It shall pass.

Next October there should be some great deals on used guns.

Probably, and most likely nothing I'd be interested in though.

Well, if there was as issue over 'panic buying' you would have never known by today - went back to Sportsman's today and it was biz as usual. No line at the gun counter and relatively quiet.
Lots of guns gone and all 9mm ammo gone as well but a fair supply of most other calibers
I'm thinking this 'panic buy' might be a short lived 'flash in the pan' so to speak!

Spoke with a friend in Tucson last evening and said the same thing. He's friends with a small gun dealer and he told me that he was selling out of everything. What do these people think? The Apocalypse? I don't understand it and guess I never will.

The scary part was one of the salesmen was telling me how he spent an inordinate amount of time explaining safety and gun operation.

His point was he was dealing with a LOT of new owners who have never owned a gun before.

While there I spoke tho the Mgr. and asked him about when he might be getting any bulk bullets in and he told me he already had a couple pallets of stuff to get stocked but did not know what it all was so I'll stop back in maybe on Monday.

That's one reason I bought a 45-70 ..... one just never knows when a T-Rex type critter may wander by .... after all, when they closed Barnum and Bailey, who knows where all of those elephants, lions, tigers and such are now .. ..

.... doubt any of those bugs can withstand being hit by the flame of from a 45-70's muzzle blast
