Too soon to be comparing stats on this virus to other virus's. Comparing a year's worth of data from other virus's to a couple of months worth of Corona is bad math.

Are people still talking about this? So far, world wide there have been 6,700 deaths. In Canada, +/- 4,000 people die from the regular flu every year. To put that in perspective, in China alone, there would have to have been 188,000 deaths to hit even the per capita ratio for common flu deaths.

Seriously people, GET A GRIP!!!
I agree 100%! Red, look at the post Vaquero put up regarding Flu #'s for 2018-2019 just for the U.S. I get EXACTLY what you're saying.

Heidey-Ho, Everyone!

Up until yesterday, I'd been very busy with my P-T Parks & Rec gig, filling in as many shifts as was reasonable while I get ready for the hip replacement in a couple of weeks. So much for my explanation for not posting around here much. I've been monitoring quite a bit, but mostly on the run between work, house stuff, kid/grandkid stuff, a little Vespa scootering and lots of list making to get ready for the saw-bones.

Anyway, Parks & Rec pulled the plug on all operations yesterday, so my furlough began a couple weeks earlier than planned. Not a surprise, but it''s interesting that not a single case of Covid-19 has been verfied or reported on the MO side of KC as of this morning. In fact, there only seem to be FIVE cases in the entire state. I'm a glass-half-full type, so this is encouraging to me, until I run across someone who likes to grumble about all of the "unreported, untested carriers who are walking around with it but just don't know it yet."

Who to believe? Sure glad I'm not in Italy or France, but I guess I understand the "over-reaction" (as some have called it) that has erupted over the past few days. At this point, seems like better safe than sorry would be the way to proceed, and what's a few days (or a couple of weeks) tending to one's self and the home front, or just milling about with those closest to us, given that we know where THEY have been lately?

Glad to be back among you, now that I have more time on my hands. Will poke around here and see what's been going on.

Once up to speed, I then owe PT7 a return phone call! So grateful to have buddies like him who check up on me from time to time!

Those survival food outlets are getting rich right now. 4 months to get your orders if you order today.
It's not a bad thing to have regardless of flu virus. Anything can happen. Most have 25 yr shelf life if stored properly.
Mine is 25 years if I remember right. I haven’t eaten any yet but I don’t think it will be tasty. Lots of carbs, protein and salt.
I've thought of those but aren't they most freeze dried meals, if power is out and you don't have an alternate source of heating them they would not be very good. I think a pantry full of canned goods that you rotate is a better option. I'd rather eat a can of cold beans or soup than something freeze dried and not heated.

Unexpected pandemic fallout...TP and Ammo, a winning combination in a national emergency.

I just got an email from TargetsportsUSA, who sells ammo online. They're located in CT and are a great source for all kinds of ammunition.

**Please expect 10-day shipping delay on all orders due to the increase demand.**

We are doing everything we can to ship your order as soon as possible including: implementing a second shift, hiring additional employees and offering overtime to our office staff to keep up with compliance requirements and any customer inquiries. Please note even with these changes, we also have a huge increase in customer email & phone call volume so please bear with us for any delays in response. You can check your order status online at www.TargetSportsUSA.com under My Account.

We are also working closely with all manufacturers to keep products in stock at competitive pricing. Unfortunately, we have been informed that all manufacturers are now shipping product at an increased cost, due to demand. We are doing everything we can to mitigate these costs for our customers while trying to keep as much inventory as we can in stock.

We are thankful for our Prime Members and customers for their patience and understanding during this time! We are doing everything we can to navigate during these difficult times.

Stay Safe!

Today in Michigan, Schools, bars, theaters, libraries, and casinos closed. Resturants take out only, my bank drive through only, hospitals and nursing homes on lock down. Some manufacturers are closed and most businesses are operating by phone and internet if possible but groceries are still open and stocking. Was informed that our plant is going to try to stay open. Going to be interesting the next 3 weeks.

Judging from what I heard from the daily virus update on the news a few minutes ago, it's going to be an interesting 6 months - or more.

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/trump- ... -recession

When asked when the pandemic would subside, Trump said that “if we do a really good job,” the crisis could pass by July or August, a far less optimistic take than in his earlier predictions that it could be over within weeks.

I have plenty of propane. Water might be my biggest problem.
