Coronavirus Pandemic, day 16.
If anyone is still out there, I’m alive but struggling. Food is running low. Down to only 459 days worth. My hands are super sanitized and my butt is super clean. Power still on, but for how long? Missing human interaction. I fear dark days ahead. News is all bad. Last few friends have attempted to leap from windows to their death, (or near death... most have single story homes so they are badly bruised). Basic necessities are gone though. NBA, NHL, NASCAR, NCAA, PGA, all gone. Basic Survival is a definite challenge. I vow to persevere to the end, I am a survivor! Please, if there is life out there, communicate!!!!!.....

On the way out to the shop a little bit ago, I spotted these 2 corona critters in the yard close to the porch. They're a lot bigger than I thought. I think they were trying to ambush me. Apparently they can change color to camoflage themselves.

The Trump administration will extend its European travel ban to include the U.K. and Ireland as part of continuing efforts to combat the coronavirus pandemic, President Trump said Saturday, before saying he was also looking at the possibility of domestic travel restrictions as well.

“We are looking at it very seriously, yeah, because they’ve had a little bit of activity unfortunately,” he said when asked in the White House briefing room about reports that the European travel ban would be extended. “So we’re going to be looking at that -- we actually already have looked at it and that is going to be announced.”

Asked if he was considering any domestic travel restrictions, Trump said: "Yes, specifically from certain areas, yes we are."

"We're working with the states and we're considering other restrictions, yes," he said.

Vice President Mike Pence confirmed later in the briefing that the travel from U.K. and Ireland would be suspended as of midnight Monday night EDT. He said it was after the unanimous recommendation from health experts at the White House.

People around here have gone into full panic mode. They have lost their minds. This is the local Walmart right up the road from me.

Just as mad down under as the rest of the world. A bit slower for the panic to set in but after the blanket media coverage we have had toilet paper shortages even in our little town of 1000 people this week. Ban on gatherings of over 500 people starts Monday although most events have already been cancelled this weekend. New Zealand has pretty much closed their borders one of our politicians that just returned from the USA where he meet with William Barr and Ivanka Trump among others has tested positive.

Haven't worried about the panic buying have enough lambs that I can eat 2 a week and they are still breeding quicker than we can eat them, 50,000kg beef on the hoof and can lay my hands on over 50,000 round of loaded ammo and enough components to load a similar amount.

At least our government is now admitting it can not be contained, the measures being put in place are simply to try and slow its spread and reduce the load on our health system so those that develop serious issues have the best chance of getting treatment.

Same here. Our health care system is in danger of being overwhelmed. Many hospitals have stopped providing elective surgeries and nursing homes have begun to limit visitors to end of life relationships. It's a very serious situation and it looks like most folks are taking proper precautions, regardless of the mindless panic buying and hoarding.

The NY Times reported on a man who drove around his state in the beginning of March buying up all of the hand sanitizers that he could find (17,700 bottles of them) to sell on Amazon. But, Amazon shut him down for price gauging and now he's stuck with a garage full of them. Poor baby.
