I like the sharper corners of the older octagons more so than these rounded ones.

Maybe it will shoot the same load better. One good thing is its back and fixed. Sure there things that could of gone more to your liking. But its fixed and all good now. If you would of sent it to Marlin it may of never been fixed. Been there done that

Glad all is well! Looks like the inner tube pin catches in a slot on the barrel now instead of the outer tube. That seems like a stronger design. Live and learn. It should last for years to come. Happy shooting!

I like that new tube set-up better than the older design. Seems more stout. Let us know how it shoots.

Hey VAQ - can you look at this closely and confirm this? Looking closely it appears the pin ONLY indexes in the tube support AND when you can please remove the inner tube and take a close up pic and PM me with it please.

I am planning on contacting Henry to see if they will sell me this style of tube support as I want to modify my Henry to this style of inner tube lock system.

I am thinking all I will need to do is to replace the tube support and shorten the outer tube to the distance between the receiver and the tube support, and shorten the inner tube as well.

When a clown moves into a palace, he doesn't become a king. The palace becomes a circus.

Looks like a much healthier set up. Hope the new barrel works out for you.

Did a little test this afternoon, at 50 it was 8 or so inches low and 3 inches left.
It's close now, back to the bench.

Probably next week...weather is supposed to be in mid 60's. Gotta move two 4-wheelers and two vehicles to get it out of the wifes' garage.
