Great shooting and a nice range area! One question is why do they leave those large rocks laying around target area?

Thank you Randy for getting those up. Much appreciated.
forty, those rocks are for the target stand base if it's windy. They always tell shooters, DO NOT shoot at the rocks. They do keep an eye on things.
It is a nice range. That one in the pictures is for handgun calibers and .22's. There is also a rifle range that goes to, I believe, 250 yards. They also have private ranges for group shoots. Fun place. Thanks again Randy and the offer Al.

Looks like fun Tom. When I take out a 22 to shoot and get to just relax and shoot it.I always come away with the same thought you had. Why dont I do this more often. I dont have a bolt action 22 but Ive spotted one I might grab. Tom it looks like there is some clay targets there on the berm to the left. Can you shoot clays there on the berms with 22 and the bigger calibers?

Al, a little late to the reply, but, yes you can. And I do! All the time. Wife and I just got back from hiking around Joshua Tree Nat'l. Park Fri and this morning. Just got in. Pooped! Dang woman likes to hike around. Going back to the range next Thursday. Thinking 30-30 and .22 rifle. Must expand my horizons ya know. 8-)

That always a plus in my book. Targets are ok for sighting in but Im a reactive target shooter myself. Wanna bring the 5er out there one of these days and go see the big trees. Need to check out a place to stay up that way.
