After over 3 months (and $300), I finally received my conceal carry license\ today.
Training (16 hrs) cost: $150.00
License Application cost: $150.00
Application review period: 3 - 4 months
License duration: 5 years

This is my carry choice (when I carry) - Ruger LCRx .38 Spl + P

Congratulations to both of you, you have fine revolvers there! I am very happy for both. I still carry this old .38 special model 68, with plenty of "heft." I got the concealed permit wallet from the NRA. I will not get into the cost and regs to obtain a permit here in Pennsylvania because I feel like it would make me sound like I was bragging. Congrats. Both are nice choices.

I was thinking today how much I'd like a Ruger Alaskan in 44 mag. Not so much as a carry pistol but for what it's meant for. I intend to do some backcountry western travel over the next couple of years. I have a nice 45 ACP carry pistol. But only connected cronies can get permits in the wretched state. Go figure. 30 miles from here the murder rate is one of the highest in the country!

Excellent Steve, glad you made it through the process.
$300 is steep but the peace of mind is valuable.
Load on Sunday and Shoot all Week.......okay it's a Mare's Leg I will reload on Wednesday. ;)
